WOW this gun is gorgeous! Has anyone had any experience with this S&W?

Although my 4" 629 is not a PC model, if not for the internal lock, it would be darn near perfect. It is accurate and has an excellent factory trigger, etc.
I can only imagine the pc would be also. Whether it's worth the extra money or not, I don't know.

Everybody likes something different, but are you sure you want a fixed-sight 44mag? Assuming you do, PC guns are generally priced according to what you get. They have forged hammer and trigger instead of MIM. The gun has a factory action job. Comes with an aluminum case and an extra grip. Porting, of course. If you added all that stuff to a stock gun you'd be talking +$500.

I guess it is really in the eye of the beholder, as I find that gun to be stunning...If I had the dough, I'd have it in a milisecond. That puppy looks like it has bark and bite...The PC S&W's I've fired have been nothing short of sublime. I think I'd like adjustables on that one, but would be happy as a pig in mud as is...

Pretty pistol for sure. But something just rubs me wrong about S&W's "Performance Center". Premium pricing for something they should be and used to do anyway. High quality fit and finish. Jeez I'm gettin old.

That is a nice looking revolver. I do think a lot of its nice looks just come from its grips though. At 39 oz its going to have a bit of a kick and wood grips might prove to be a little tough on your hands.

I have a 4” 629 @ 41 oz and that has plenty of kick with normal factory loads. Enough that I am going to try some different grips to see what works for me.

But practicality aside, that is a fine looking gun. :)

IMHO, here's the most beautiful large bore S&W 3" being made right now. It also comes in .44mag and .357 in the identical look, but I prefer the .45ACP Model 25 as most fun to shoot of the three!

Still . . . I can't deal with the lock, so I'll keep my 6" 1980 Model 25-2 .45ACP wheelgun, with it's barrel chopped to 3 1/4." It is SO MUCH fun to shoot and super-accurate too.

Until S&W came up with the limited edition model pictured above, I considered my custom 25-2 to be the revolver Smith SHOULD have made.

I've seen them...nicely ported...my 1990 era 3" unfluted full lug 29's were sold in nearly new condition....now that is recoil...not enjoyable to shoot...

Eye of the beholder...not my cup of tea at all. I like the grip material, but not the shape. I don't like fixed sights, the barrel is really short for my likings. I'm sure there are alot of people who think my gun is ugly, but it is MY cup of tea almost exactly.

I have a 629-4 with fluted cyl. 1/2 lug 3 in. bbl. loaded with CCI. BLAZER .44 S&W SPL. 200gr. GDHP as my house gun. I think it's the perfict gun for the job !

If you got the dough and don't mind the sights

she would be a nice carry gun. I have had PC .44s and can tell you I hate myself for selling them. Smooth as butta and very easy to pack and shoot.

Nope, it is not a gorgeous gun, practical, but not gorgeous. Not even pretty.
For me it is a very functional piece and should be a great carry gun.

Also Why is it that when S&W finally gets it right for a carry gun, some idiot states it needs adjustable sights. There are loads of S&Ws with adjustable sights and not enough with fixed sights.
