I was blessed to spend half a day on the range with a classic big bore Marlin 44 magnum. You ask what makes this experience so unique or better than any other?

Very nice. It's about time to get my 1894C threaded as well. A bulk box of .38 gendarmerie ammo and a spare can have been waiting for way too long.

Did you have much or any blow back around the bolt? I've been thinking g about doing this in either or both of my marlins (357 and 44) instead of buying a cz evo.

How about more details about how the barrel is threaded and modifications needed to the gun.

I checked several of my lever guns and it looks like the magazine tube is a little too long to leave enough barrel for threading.
