Took the New (to me) 1939 (same age as I) Russian 91/30 Izhevsk rifle out today and put 30 rounds of 1980 Russian 147 grain light ball milsurp through it. Action worked slick and flawlessly throughout the shoot with no binding (this can be a problem with some) whatsoever. Accuracy at 100 yards with the milsurp ammo and iron sights was outstanding for this old man, the .312” bore is like new shiny bright.

Best target, nine shots fired from rest off hood of my old Jimmy 4x4. Top two (not the black taped) were with a center of bullseye hold, the remaining seven were with 6 o’clock hold on bullseye, gotta love the 3 shots in one hole and the 3 shot touching cluster.

Eagle eyes..

Wow! I can safely say, you're a great shot. I have a '33 hex receiver Mosin (Tula) that I bought in April 2010. I've only shot some 300+ rounds thru it and only at a 25 yard indoor range. I found that, just like my 9mm Hi-Point C9 pistol, I shoot better with both eyes open (at least at 7-25 yards). I've had rim-lock on the Mosin a handful of times and the sear spring recently broke, but I haven't bought a replacement yet to fix it. I tightened up the old one awhile back, but after another 50-75 rounds it busted in half. I miss shooting the old Mosin, it's a lot of fun! :D

nice lookin rifle does it still have the stock front sight on mine will
keep a onest 2" group at 100 yards but about 8" high

I wish the SPAM can of ammo I got was that good. I'm doing well to get 8 to 10 inch groups with fliers out to as much as 12 inches now and then. Put some Privi ammo through it and it's immediately down to around 3'ish inch groups.

It just shows that they are accurate, reliable good rifles. So much to these is what kind of shape they are in.

Good shooting and keep spreading the word that these are good accurate rifles....perhaps it will stop some jack wagon from "fixing" one.
