I recently inherited some (14 oz) of WSF. On the can it says it is good for many handguns but none of my 5 loading manuals have data on its use in 38, 357, 9mm, 40 cal, or 45. Does anyone have a reference that they would share? I may just have to give it away if I can’t find data, and I would appreciate any help.

WSF is one of powders I used for USPSA matches and it produced good accuracy while generating higher velocities (compared to other match powders) that I used it to produce "duplicate" factory JHP ammunition for practice using same Gold Dot/Golden Saber projectiles.

In addition to Hodgdon online load data, plenty of WSF loads in Speer load data - https://www.speer.com/reloading/handgun-data.html

I burned a couple of pounds last year using 4.8gr under 124g Match Winners. This load is accurate and soft shooting. I’m guessing it runs around 1040fps.

Outstanding! I appreciate the help. A friend has a Lyman 49th edition and he’s letting me use it. It has some data. And the numbers that some of you provided has filled the holes. Just for information I have a Lee 2nd edition and a Hornady 9th, and neither mention it in those calibers. Anyway, I’m good to go and appreciate the help. Thanks to all of you.

I've used WSF with good results for .380 acp, 9x19, .44spl and 45 acp.
WSF may work well for a 135-158 +P load in 38 spl. not sure but it's on the list, as well as a 44 mag load with some 210gr MBC coated bullets.

I too used the Hodgdon online data for the calibers you’re intending to reload. WSF meters well, burns well and produces good groups. My subjective data shows it’s a bit more Smokey than other powders at a given PF but not offensively so. You’ll probably want to buy more of it, I suggest a bigger jug when they become available. It’s cousin, WST, is a faster powder, and works well in the calibers mentioned. Good luck.

I'm using 3.7-3.8 grains of wsf with a lead 125grn bullet for my 9mm's. it give me about 1050fps out of an 8" ar barrel and about 950 or so out of a 4.5" pistol barrel.

I've used pounds of the stuff.

Is that the ACME wide nose 125gr? I seat those to a COAL (A = “average”) of 1.060” to seat in my FEG Hi-Power. That’s about the most accurate coated bullet I’ve tried in that gun.

it's both a lee 125grn rnfp https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690306/6-cavity-mold-358-125-rf and a brazos bullets this https://www.brazosprecision.com/38-125gr-Truncated-ConeBevel-BaseGroove-820ct-0056bullet_p_32.html

I forget what they are seated to, but i'ts short. approx an inch and a bit. (an exact amount I know)
