I have been using him for a couple of years., He is local for me so I don't know how his shipping is. He makes a good quaility bullet.

Thebulletworks.net bomb!

I am not going to go off on this company, but I want to share my experience.
I just got off the phone with the company after making a purchase exactly three weeks ago.

On 4-6-2011 I made a purchase for 1000 bullets.
On 4-11-20011 I called because I never received the product Thought it may be lost...(I was told I would receive in a couple days. I live 1.5 hours away) They said they were backed up and it would be another week. (The site said they had 14 (1000qty) in stock
A week later or so, I called they loosely said "oh, it's going to be another week" While complaining in background because they didn't put me on hold.
I then said, I'm sorry but I need to ask for a refund. She said ok that fine.
On 4-29-11 I called back because I never got a refund and talked to Ron. These are the responses he made:
  • "We are the worlds worst at customer service”
"Everyone here just wants to make good bullets"(not deal with notifying small customers of delays or small customers period, not sure)
"We are used to dealing with customers that buy 100,000 bullets at a time and we don’t have time to tell the small customers that they orders are delayed."
"I gave you your refund and canceled your account"
The irony is... I was checking out the product before putting in some big money into a group that makes those 100,000 orders.
They never shipped and they never refunded until I requested refund second time today!
The second irony is on the day of the first refund request, I was angry and wanted some bullets so I asked my wife to make a purchase at a shop on her way home and she bought thebulletworks bullets ANYWAYS!
They are good quality but I'm not going to deal with them again. There has to be another company out there that cares about the small customers too.

Placed an order for 4000 180 plated in .40 form them. It's the amount they listed as in stock.

They take a little longer than I would expect to show up. I get a call from them a couple of days before I would have called them to tell me my order came back form USPS destroyed except for one box of 1000. They said they'd refund the difference and ship out what came.

Had to call them back to get the refund to actually happen. They also said probably 3 weeks until they got more stock in. It's been about 6.

Which is a shame because they are very nice bullets. I'd order a lot more.

Experience with bullet makers

I will take a look at missouribullet.com. I know that I seem knew to this forum but I am a voyeur. This is my secret viable source for information and advice. Unfortuneately it took a bad situation to make me pop out from under the rock.

I looked around the net for other bulletsmiths and found this place: bluestarbrass.comThis place is closer than than thebulletworks. Any good?

@raz-0 That is too much work for a customer to go through. I feel that the good and the bad should be plopped on the table. That way the good have the success and business they deserve. This in turn will make customer service a viable specific and benchmark.

When I asked to speak to someone who deals with customer service, Ron came back saying, "WE MAKE BULLETS."
That means that customer service isn't their focus. That pissed me off. sorry...

Bluestarbrass in Searcy, Arkansas is in the process of closing up shop for good and I don't think they even answer the phone anymore (not since the post cited below)

Go with MBC at http://www.missouribullet.com/
you won't be disappointed. The owner is a member here and gives a THR discount. Use the search function and you'll see that their quality is not only awesome, but their customer service is superb.

Brad - the owner of MBC not only works out in the shop working with his crew making bullets, but he is rightfully PROUD of their customer service -

- and if you do a search of this forum thread, you'll see countless accolades about his office staff "Jo Ann" and her "magic ability" to get orders out the door in near impossible time-frames.

:)

Not so much. They work for Jo Ann, including Brad!

This man speaks the truth. Brad will stand behind his product and if a problem should arise with your order you can rest easy, they will fix it. I dont recall many people with problems though.

As noted, Missouri Bullet treats the small customers very well. I hope that never changes.

Followup to Missouri Bullet

I know this thread is old but it's a big deal for me to let everyone know that I did purchase from Missouri Bullet Works. I ordered online and their system and shipment was flawless.

I actually quick inspected the 2000 qty for defects. I loaded from two different 3 of 4 boxes and picked up 0 flawed projectiles. Other products from other companies had numerous flawed or discard in the boxes.

I didn't get to use the 5% discount from this forum because this site was down for maintenence but who cares! I'd pay and have paid more for lesser quality. It's about time I get great quality for dirt cheap (you should hear what I have been paying)

Thanks THR and Thanks MBC!

I love happy endings. :D

Well, even though Missouri Bullet Company now sells to "big, big" customers in the tune of millions of bullets per order, Brad/Jo Ann work hard to meet us "small order" reloaders's orders - bless their hearts!

If you are looking for jacketed/plated bullets, RMR and Berry's MFG are good companies with great customer service.

Brad (Missouri Bullet), Jacob (longdayjake) and Jay (Berry's MFG) are THR members and it's good not only to have feedback from manufacturers/vendors regarding product information but they have also shown to be very sensitive to customer satisfaction and needs.

So happy with their product, I...

I made a youtube video about Missouri Bullet. I was half asleep but I think I put a decent message out there. Shop around, talk to friends, and expect the best quality and service.

Right?

add on comment to youtube vid

Sorry I'm not trying to get suscribers, but I would love to hear feedback on the video. It's a little long and boring but I owe it MoBullets.

Let me know however you'd like

I've used bulletworks a couple times, no problems and the bullets are 1st rate.

Montana makes some great jacketed bullets, if thats what you are looking for. I believe that Jake from rmrbullets.com sells montana golds from time to time too, but he would have to confirm that.
