I've been trying out Jerry Miculek's thumb over thumb nail grip on my 627, but my hands are too big. The grips are just too small so it's either find new larger grips or change to a J frame grip. With the standard grip my hands are just too jammed up. So anyone know where I can get some grips like my Raging Bull for an N frame, or should I just change grip style?

The X-frame rubber Hogues made for OEM use for S&W's .460 & .500 Magnum revolvers will fit the K/L and N-frames as well as the designed for X-frames. They are available for ~$35 from S&W Accessories - and make a great adjunct fot recoil control, as they insulate (cover) the backstrap on the round butt grip frames. In doing so, they make my 629's a lot more comfortable to shoot real Magnums from. The side offshoot - and reason I mention them - is they also are the largest grips I own. To evaluate their suitability, find a local dealer, etc, who stocks either a .460 Magnum or .500 S&W and ask to hold same - that's the grip.

PS I liked the JM grips so much on my 625JM that I bought some for my 627 Pro - and I love them there!

Herrett's Jordan Troopers are probably the grip for you. Designed by Bill Jordan, he was 6' 6" and had the hugest hands you ever saw. His big paws made the S&W model 19 look like a toy. They fully enclose the grip frame and are made to order, fitted to your hand. I think you will find them to be far more comfortable than any off-the-shelf grip.

It may be worth your while to look at all the Herrett's stocks. Cheap? No. Fast? No. Made to fit your individual hands? Yes.

If you've got unusually large or small hands, Herrett's are worth the money.

Thanks for the heads up about the Herrett's stocks. I'll be ordering some this week, I looked at the X frame grips but I just can't do rubber grips on a gun I like this much.
