XD Full Length Guide Rod

I orderd one of Don's Guide Rods from http://www.xd-hs2000.com and got it installed, it looks nice but I have yet to test it out, I have a feeling that the 18 Lb. recoil spring will help cut the felt recoil. Does anyone know what the factory rating is for the stock recoil spring assymbley on the XD9? I think its something like 13 lbs...







At only $19, i think this is a great purchase for anyone looking to experiment with loads and springs in their XD. The guide rod from Don works with Springfield 4" compact 1911 recoil springs so you have a 18 to 24 lb range.

iirc, the stock spring weight is 17lbs. there's really not that great of a range used for stock 9mm semi autos.

yep, just looked, according to pistol-gear.com, which sells the guiderods and springs, 18# is the stock weight

again another iirc: 22 is way too much for 9mm. xd40 owners seem to like 21lbs.
