XDm parts interchangeable?

Does anyone know if the upper half of a 3.8" XDm Compact will fit onto a 4.5" full size bottom half?

Basically make a 3.8 standard out of the 2 parts?

Springfield makes a full size XDM with a 3.8 upper.So, yes it should work.You don't have to buy 2 guns to do this.

I know they make one but I have a Compact I can get for nearly nothing from a friend so I just wondered if I could play Legos with the guns. I already have a 4.5" so if the 3.8 slide from the Compact would fit onto the full size frame I'd have all 3 I agree it should work, just wondered if anyone had actually done it.
