Iam trying to find a picture(s) of a bushmaster XM15-E2S A2 scoped (like a 3-9 or larger) using a carrying handle scope mount?

Iam not sure if this is possible cause of how high the scope would be, does anyone know if this is possible would you maybe need some kind of cheek pad on the stock or something of that sort?

I saw one at the range 2 weeks ago. The guy said he liked it, but I'm not sure he'd ever tried a flattop. The cheek weld looked more like a chin weld.

It is definitely possible to put a scope mount and high power scope on an A1 or A2 upper. I have an A1 upper AR15 that I had a 3x-9x 50mm scope on at one time. It had no sight problems what so ever. Also, keep in mind that you can always add a cheak piece to your buttstock (both full size and carbine) if you need to bring you natural eye level up closer to the scope.

These picks aren't of Bushy XM15s but the show scopes mounted on carry handles:

I think this is what you wanted:) . This is my personal XM15 with a Nikon 3-9 mounted. It works great and i have no complaints.

If I can figure out how to post a picture I will show mine.

It is an M4 profile barrel, with a Leupold VXII 3-9. Before you spit all of your kool-aid on your keyboard, the reason that I did this was because I found the scope for a really good price, and was going to put it on my Rem 700 in 30'06, but it was already sighted in with my other scope, so after deer season, I will change it out.

I found the mount at a local store, even though I wasn't looking for one. So, I had the scope, so I figured, "why not?"

Does it look silly? You bet. Is it very practical? Absolutely not. But it allows me to shoot prairie rats much cheaper than breaking out the .243, and gives more range than the 22lr.

One day I will purchase another AR (or an upper) and it will be a flattop designed as a varmit rig.

Regards,

Stinger

DPMS 20" superbull 1:9 cryo-accurized Southpaw. 107 degrees and 82% humidity. Wind was L-R gusting 15-20. 100yrds. Optics are ebay $50 junk. Load used was a 55gr AMAX moly pushed by 25.2gr of Accurate 2230.

Not my best work, but the only pic I've got of this rifle with the scope on it.
