XS Big Dot for SP101

I don't have a Big Dot, but if you raise the height of the front sight it will lower your POI for the same cartridge. If it's only to be used a self defense weapon the difference at a SD range will probably not matter much.

The Big Dot is supposed to be put OVER the target. Not just under it like traditional sights. It is designed for self defense weapons and is not a precise aiming instrument. Cover the target with the sight and then shoot. It is designed to be easy to see an any situation, not just at night.

I've put the Trijicon front sight on my 357. It always shot high with the factory sight and the new sight lets me hold dead on.

Yes, I have one on my 3" SP101. Better than stock and easy to pick out but requires an unusual sight picture to hit what you're aiming at. As I recall, the Big Dot front sight must be bisected by the top of the rear sight to hit what the center of the Big Dot is covering.

Imprecise to say the least; but my old eyes aren't helping any.

If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the Small Dot.

ETA: this is for .38 Spcl. handloads put up in .357 brass and fired at 25 yard targets

I put the XS standard dot on my LCR 357 and SP101. I think they shoot a bout the same. I don't remember a big difference.
