Has anyone tried the Xtreme 124gn RN FMJ bullets yet? I just ordered some and was wondering what others are doing with them as to what powder OAL most are using.

I plan to use BE-86 with an OAL of 1.160. Will work up a load.

Yes, I just ordered a thousand of them to give them a try in my wife's G19. Will probably use BE-86, but maybe CSB-1.

I bought a thousand of the Xtreme FMJs to try...don't know when I will get to them....I do find it interesting though that both RMR and Xtreme came out with FMJs almost at the same time...

Do they look alike, same weight? If so, probably same source unless they are made in-house.

I haven't used any Xtreme FMJs yet, but just ordered 500 to try out with W231 powder. Only a penny apiece more than their 124gr plated RN. Worth a try.

I asked Xtreme on where there FMJ's are made and was told that they make them in house.

I hope to get out this weekend and chrono some of them and check for accuracy. As soon as I can get my hands on some RMR FMJ's I can do a comparison.

Range report

I also hung this on the BE-86 thread.

9mm STAR30M 4.33 inch barrel
Xtreme 124gn FMJ bullets OAL 1.160
F-C Brass, TuLammo SPP
86 degrees and humid

LD SD/ES Average
5.4 11/32 1083
5.5 12/27 1110
5.6 15/34 1116

Shot 5 each for 5.4 and 5.5 and 10 of 5.6, the best accuracy was with 5.5 and 5.6. will go back and repeat with 5.5 and 5.6 with larger sample size to confirm data. These were 10yd shots with Chrono at 5yd line.

They are both 124 gr FMJs....I am going to buy a thousand of the ones from RMR and compare them but either place it is a good deal

I'm interested in hearing results as well. The price they are selling fmj's for is great. Seems like xtreme secretly placed them on the website without any news. Been trying to find reviews for a couple weeks now. Looking forward to this thread.

We came out with 115's and they came out with 124's. Our methods are completely different though. They are making theirs the traditional way (which isn't bad) and we are making ours a new way that is a little more efficient.

Right now our single machine is selling pretty much everything it can make in a single shift. I've actually got some more machines coming at the end of September/October and we may be making a 124 RN and FN too.

We are going to be doing a 124 grain premium HP in house. The bullet will be very similar to the one we sell now with some minor adjustments made to the jacket and the HP cavity in order to get some slightly better expansion out of them. That machine is supposed to be done by the end of the month. Either that or our 69 grain .223 bullet machine will be done. I told them to finish whichever could be finished first.

Anyway, we are going to be pushing the jacketed line hard now. As long as copper and lead stay relatively low, there is no reason we can't sell jacketed stuff at almost the same price as plated bullets. Obviously, the HP is a different story. The amount of work and tooling that goes into making premium HP is surprising.

Lefty, thx. Keep us posted and if you have any titegroup or cfep I would be interested.

Thanks Jake, I'm looking forward to trying your 124.
