Yea or Nay on this SA 1911

I'm really big on the functionality more than style. It's pretty, but I'd say no.

Thanks ya'll, just to clear things up a bit, this 1911 I want will be my first 1911, but far from my first gun. I don't need the gun for PD, for my XD45 Tac,P229,or G19 can do that job nicely.

What I'm looking for is a 1911 first and foremost. From there, I want it to be these things; beautiful, accurate, reliable, and affordable.

The primary purpose for this gun is to bring on a smile each time I shoot it, and look good doing it. I like shooting my Sig for this same reason, but it just ain't as pretty as the 1911.

I'm waiting on SA to let me know what the wait time is on the model I want. My first choice is made of unobtainium, so I'm hoping this one is available. That is difficult when SA does not stock all guns, all the time. That is what distributors are for. I have to wait until they do a run of that model if they don't have one ready for shipment at SA.

If this model isn't available, the PX9154LP is the same gun with fixed three-dot sights, black diamond grips, and standard mags, and would be my next choice.

I used to own the same gun with fixed sights. To me, you're a stone's throw away from a TRP (w/o adjustable sights), and I would save the couple bucks and make the jump. It was a great gun, and I only sold it after I upgraded to a Les Baer.

I want to make the same suggestion. Stepping down to the PX9154LP is going the wrong way. You would also loose night sites and the extended mag well.

It is a big jump from the Loaded Target to the TRP. If I could, I would.

I'd hold out for the one I want. If your luck is anything like mine as soon as I settle for less, the one I wanted shows up.

I agree... hold out for the one you want. Because, if you're like most of us, you'll always have your first choice in the back of your mind wishing you had it.
