Yes, I'm new and have a basic question

A few months ago I built an M4 style carbine but with a midlength upper. Very basic with removable carry handle but I'm happy with the parts I chose. If you build a rifle you're less likely to need to replace parts. So far all I've need extra are magazines and ammo (which is getting to be quite an expense).

Iron sights (if they don't come on the AR you are purchasing), mags, and a sling. Give me an A2 clone, and I will hit out to 300Y with irons. Get some ammo and some sight in targets. Have fun.

Can you get me a build sheet for that set-up please?

Nevermind, I'll just order one of everything in my catalog

Very nice. I learned a lot in this thread.

Basically, a quality cleaning kit, lots of good ammo and mags are gonna be first on the list. Then after that, shoot shoot shoot and go from there.

Well, I have the same Colt and I like it the way it is.
I bought P-Mags (I think they are the best)
and a bunch of ammo.
I'd like a ACOG sight, but I don't shoot it enough to justify the cost.
And I like the looks with the carry handle. Iron sights for me.

Oh, I have a great idea. Get him a Maglula for loading those AR magazines. It's the best thing ever and only about $25

Yeah, a Maglula is an utterly necessary piece of kit, IMHO. If you have a rifle for which they are made, get one. Also pick up the pistol magazine loader they make.

What would be the minimal accessories you'd buy for your brand new Colt AR-15 (I think he has the LE 6920) and Ruger mini 14?
I spent 10 years w/ the M-16 and the only thing I would really want for it would be a good reddot sight & a compact scope, both on quick-detach mounts.
