I've never known a single person who has protected himself from an attacker or intruder by using a gun, but I do personally know:

-- a fourteen year old child who accidently blew his head off

-- a depressed young man who went into the woods and shot himself

-- three or four other suicides

Yeah, the suicides might have found some other method, but they might have chosen a less lethal one, been thwarted and gotten some treatment.

Ya just gotta laff about a "less lethal" method of suicide...

Would anyone walk into a store and ask for a less than lethal suicide tool/method?

Maybe this guy should reconsider. Most all of his friends are committing suicide. We MUST find something "reasonable" in this.

I'm an old guy

I can think of at least a dozen women who've mentioned being raped, and a few more who mentioned incest. What this means to me is that there are a whole lot more out there who don't mention it. Damn, arm them all and let them train for free.

One thing I do know for sure is that women tend to hate a significant other who gave them a social disease more than they hate a rapist...

The trouble with leftist extremists is they believe their personal preferences not only trump the nation's civil rights, but ought to be enforced as law.

If they don't want anything to do with guns, they should leave guns alone and let it go at that.

uncertainty of the possibility that one could be charged with brandishing or terroristic threatening when one exposes a firearm to a person believed to be about to commit a crime it is little wonder that folks don't talk much about such instances.

Even the most conservative estimates in defensive gun uses put forth that it occurs several thousand times a year. To minimize the importance of those instances of DGU because of the lack of personal knowledge about them makes one seem pretty stupid.

I was watching Canadian TV today for a moment and there was some cop show on and 4 cops were in a guys house and found a crate of fully automatic weapons.The one cop says "we need to make more laws to stop people from getting these guns".The other cops looked at him like he was some kind of idiot and the conversation turned pro gun and anti gun laws.You don't see that on TV too often.

Nope, not at all. Just because some people misuse something, I don't think that I shouldn;t be able to use it.

How many kids get high off aerosol products, and how many die? Maybe we should ban all hairspray and spraypaint, according to some people's theories. Or, maybe we should ban all cars, because some people drive drunk. Maybe we should just lock up all people in prison and tell them what they can and can;t do, just so we are sure they won't abuse privliges.

Or, maybe we should just realize that because someone had abused privleges, that doesn't mean everyone will.
