Finnish Leuku

I have this one in stainless:

The Leuku is the traditional camp knife of the Saami (Lapp) peoples. It combines the functions of knife and machete, and is the constant companion of this northern nomadic folk. It is used for gathering firewood, butchering reindeer and similar tasks. These are supplied with curly birch handles and nickel silver trim. They have the same flat hammer pommel as the Lappland puukkos. Again, the leather sheath takes almost the entire knife. The Leuku is about a foot long with a blade of just over 7 inches (18 cm)

Mine slices tomatoes without benefit of a cutting board: just hold the tomato over the bowl and stroke off slices. Watch your fingers.

With all due respect to my piglet brethren, the Mistress is too large to serve as a "jack of all trades" blade. MY favorite, the Satin Jack, is too small. The best all-rounder is the MoFo family, either Uncle or Mister. The thinner stock keeps it lighter, the recurve gives it useful belly for skinning, and the length gives it good geometry for chopping.

True, rbmcmjr... as long as e-handles fit you. ;) Blasphemy, I know, but the e-handles just don't work for me. Not like a sf or fusion mag; now that feels like it was made for me!

(The two on the far right for those unfamiliar with Busse)
