"you don't need another gun"

They are both quite wrong as you NEED many nore guns and had better start buying SOON.:neener:

Asking your mom for another gun? Seriously, you only have one or two guns. I don't see an issue. That's about what I have out in the shop in some stage of a project or another.

My family is considering an intervention for me. Is there a TV show on that yet?

Well, the first thing you should do is sell the HK and buy something, well, good.
Then, use the spare money from the HK sale to buy your wife something golden.
Then you're all set for more purchases, guaranteed to be approved.

That's all you have so far? You haven't even gotten started yet. I've carried that many to the range in one trip.
I'm not tring to catch up to you guys that have been shooting all your lives. I'm just tring to decide between a CZ & an M&P

Politics, mamby-fear-weenies and misdirected social-utopians aside - I completely get someone thinking numbers of firearms being enough or too much.

I don't agree with it but I understand their point of view.

If you aren't into them try explaining the differences in your wildly (to us) varying collection of say 23 1911 based pistols. Then try to wrap your head around, oh, a gals amassed 23 purses or shoes or another guys ball caps or whatever.

"Really? You're telling me each of those 17 carbines is really different?"

"A-yup, I are!"

Go for the M&P. You will not be disappointed!

I would also place it second to the HK based on looks, quality, reliability, and function. I've owned 2 M&P's and have been completely satisfied with them.

Btw I don't believe you can ever have too many guns.:D The more the merrier! I'm only on my 4th rifle (working on my 5th), and I have more firearms down the list.

I don't have any thing against .22 pistols and saving money on ammo is always a plus. What I was looking for second duty size gun that I could use to train with. It can't be so large as to not be concealed. I'm tring to limit the # of calibers I reload, so another 9mm seemed the obvious choise.

She's probably right. Good thing you don't need your mom's permission anymore.

Same grief coming from your wife? Ask her if she really needs the last 6 pairs of shoes (and matching purse) that she bought.

If your family is well taken care of, and if you don't need to borrow money to buy the guns, then it's not really about the guns; they are disapproving of you spending *any* money on something you want.

You need a bolt action rifle, maybe in 308, an ak style rifle, a snub in 44 magnum, some 22lr plinkers, maybe a few pocket pistols.

As you can see, I am addicted as well.....

First off I would go for the CZ myself, I can't help like them. Haven't held one though :( I'm in the same boat as you though I only have 3 rifles at the moment and working on getting a pistol but budget is tight and the wife has me on a 4gun limit at the moment. She is afraid I'll end up like a buddy that has a ton of safe queens.....if I had the cash she would be right though :p

My wife told me I didn't need any more guns. I told her she was probably right because, lately, I'd been having the urge to start collecting English motorcycles again. After we discussed the cost of a used rifle and the cost of an 850 Norton Commando or BSA Goldstar, she decided guns were cheaper.

If you're looking for a full size to carry then the P01 will do you nicely, but if you're looking for something mainly to take to the range I'd suggest either the full size CZ75 or the CZ75 Compact. I own the compact and though it's a bit too heavy to carry in summer it's all-steel construction makes it a joy to shoot all day, and not even a glimmer of a hickup from it.

leadcounsel nailed it.

the women in our lives tend to collect things that cost a lot upfront but are worthless once you get it home.

all my guns should still be shooting when my grandkids are old men. if they provide me, my sons and their sons a lifetime of enjoyment shooting, I'd say they are worth the price of purchase. Or at least that is my perspective on it.
