You find this in your brass!!!!!!??????

So I threw in some 9mm range brass into my tumbler today. I was spreading them out to dry and found this!!!! Not fired and looks like a broken solid copper projectile in it!

Headstamp is GECO RHTA L.F 9x19

Looks to be some kind of lead free training ammo?

This is a first! It's been tossed around for who knows how long and I just tumbled it in my FART.

Yeah, a quick search seems to be the case! RHTA stands for "reduced hazard training ammunition" and L.F. stands for "lead free"

Broken frangible round. I've never happened across one like that but it's entirely within the realm of possibility.

I bought a box of bulk once fired LC 5.56 brass once that had a live green tip round in it. Always check new-to-you brass!

Looks like a wax bullet, some people use them as a blank round.

So I found another piece of brass with the same head stamp. This one was empty though. But when looking in the case, it has a raised section around the flash hole that is different. Seems to have a tiny bit less case capacity because of this! Not enough to worry about. But it is different! It's the one on the bottom of this picture!

That is a frangible round that broke. They are rather fragile.

I agree with the gents above; a rough handled (tumbled?) frangible round with half the bullet broken off. I would either drop it in my "curiosity" box or remove the broken bullet (impact puller) and reload it. As for the case web being a different shape, I would think it is just the tool designer's idea, perhaps to ease die removal after stamping/forming cartridge. I may have a few in my brass stash and reload them just like the other 8 headstamps...

Live broken frangible round.

If you want to recycle the case, simply use a kinetic bullet puller. Reprocess.

That bottom brass looks to have an internal step. This is used to prevent bullet setback. The internal case volume will be substantially smaller. Do not load it with your normal charge as you will have an overpressure round. I do not have any info for them so don't reload them. Someone with Quickload could give you a load if you give them the water volume weight. It will not be the same as a regular book load. Not worth it for the dozen or so cases I have found so far.
