You Gotta See this Magpul "Glock in a Box!"

I don't like Glock, and I WANT ONE! That is so incredibly cool! I hope A) MagPul goes ahead with it, and B) they don't sell the idea to someone who may frag it up.I would like to see a version with a differant sidearm, but the Glock does lend it self to the subgun approach. We won't see a select fire model, as the very few Glock 18s are worth more as is, instead of turned into this.
Also quite neat as it is a handgun/carbine is plain view, but hidden within itelf.
It is, of course, NFA, short barreled rifle, subject to all paperwork, etc, but still a great idea. :)

Armoredman:
This doesnt reuse the Glock frame, just the slide, so even if you had a transferable Glock 18, it would not make the Magpul into a transferable MG.

"Looks like a flashlight . . . walk your dog."

That'd have to be one ugly flashlight, but I'll agree that it definitely doesn't look like a gun in the folded position.

It looks more like a VHS cassette.

Magpul reps at the SHOT show said...

...they were not going to produce the FMG9.
...they made it to show what they are capable of.
...that it is a non-functional prototype.

The Magpul FMG9 is Magpul's version of the ARES FMG, which came out in the 1980s.

glock in a box! thats my term used on several sites... doubt i was the first... but lets hope!

See, I'd buy that.

And if I did I'd probably never carry a handgun again because i'd have a very compact long arm of sorts immediately available.

Fits in a pocket.

Thats high speed.

They made a Glock look more brick-like. Whoda thunk it?

(no flaming here, I really like my Glock)

I wonder if you always have to point the muzzle at your own gut to fold it back up like that guy did, numerous times. Pretty slick, though.

And your always pointing a firearm at whatever you light is showing you. Neat idea. But what if you kid has something in his eye your trying to get out in the dark !!

Interesting though, I like it.

Yes, but I for one don't get all bent out of shape about having a disassembled firearm pointed at me. Which is what this item essentially is when it's folded.

I look down the barrel of my carry piece all the time when the barrel is off the frame.

No, as stated above your pointing the barrel at yourself. The ammo is pointed at the ground. And the trigger is inaccessible.

Jeez, are we all even watching the same video?

We won't see a select fire model, as the very few Glock 18s are worth more as is, instead of turned into this.

According to the video there is a space left behind the slide for an after market select fire switch.

I forget who makes it.
