I'm in the process of getting another 1911. I have approx. 900 peices of brass here at the house from when I had my problematic Kimber. I currently have a reconditioned Lee Pro-1000 press that I bought for 80.00+s&h from Lee. It came set up with carbide .38 SPCL. dies and all for that price. After looking at the price of dies, shell plate holder and such to include the hassle of changing everything out, I might as well buy another press set up for .45 ACP. I know there are better progressive presses out there but, I'm more that happy with the Pro-1000. It does what is asked of it. It gives me a cheap reason to go to the range. One thing is for sure; I really need to get an automatic bullet feeder.

Well,hey..If money is no object,go for it!!

I load for six calbers, and six presses aren't in the picture for me,but if two is all you're gonna do,why not?;)

I have known people to have multiple presses, some set up for one caliber and they never change the dies. It probably is the best way to have consistant ammo.

You know. I might as well

I got a Lee turret press "4 hole", and if you want to load more than one caliber just get an extra turret with dies and switch turrets.

I have 2 650's and I never change the setup on the one. it is for my competiition ammo. It is nice to be able to sit down anytime I want and in 10 minutes crank out a few hundred rounds with no worries about the load.

Satch

I thought about that but, changing out the shell plate holder from .38/.357 to .45 seem like a PITA. Plus with the cost of a new set of dies, shell plate holder, turret and all of the other small parts to go from small pistol primers to large pistol primer to include the time to set things up, I might as well just spen the 80.00 and get as second reconditioned press.
