I'm an auto guy. All auto, all the way. As a weapons instructor in the Air Force I had not need for a revolver.
A year ago I inhereted three Smith revolvers when my grandfather died. I was awed at the beauty and the family history, but didn't have much interest in shooting them. But I did. I now can't help but scope every store I go into for model 10s and 27s.
Congrats on the gun. A well-made revolver is an awesome thing.
Well, if you're going to buy a revolver you might as well buy what is probably the best revolver ever made. That's a beautiful M27 you bought, good for you. BTW, all the other M27's in this thread brought a tear to my eye!
My first revolver was a 3" Ruger SP101 in .357 mag. What an addiction to wheel guns! The next revolver I bought was a S&W 460V. That is the best revolver (versatility wise) that I will ever own. Talk about going from a Buick to a Bently in under a year!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you want a S&W 642.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you are going to a gun shop.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you are buying a S&W 642.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you are very happy with your S&W 642.
I love doing that.
Reading on this subforum about the virtues of wheel guns infected me with an irrational need to get a quality revolver. Here she is, a 1975-76 Model 27-2--I hold each of you personally responsible
Okay!! Good start. Now you need a Model 10, Model 19, Model 14, and a Model 18. Maybe even a Model 29. Then you really be addicted and we'll take to the wonderfull world of the great Ruger revolvers.
