Your carry caliber choice

Both of my main carry guns are .40 S&W. More shots than .45, more power than 9mm. Pretty good compromise, if you ask me.

.38 special, 9mm & .45. I'l be adding .357 as soon as I get my S&W 640.

Everyday carry S&W 642/442, or Glock 26, or Kimber Ultra.

I would carry a .40 S&W if we were allowed to carry here. I like the caliber a lot. I like having a pretty large capacity and a big bullet. I think that there is a reason a lot of LEOs carry it. I know they do not always get their choice in these matters but as for me it is a great round.

The caliber that I carry depends on what gun I can effectively conceal that that is determined by the weather, time of year, where I'm going, what I'm wearing, what I'm going to be doing, etc.
Caliber isnt something I really care about, as long as I know I can put the shots where I want them with whatever gun I'm carrying that day.
thanks guys saved me some typin'

I split time between .357 Sig and .40 for my primary, and my everyday BUG is a .357 Magnum. I have another BUG in 9mm that I carry from time to time.

PF-9 9mm in the summer

Witness Compact 10mm when I can wear a vest or jacket.

I love the additional power and capacity of the Witness, but I'm not willing to wear unecessary clothing just so I can carry it. Summertime attire is 33x36 Wranglers and a medium T-shirt. Hard to conceal a nearly full size gun in that.

Another .40 S&W here.

Usually 9mm in a G19 or P239.In exceptionally warm weather or when need for deeper concealment,.32 in a Seecamp,.380 SIG P230 or .38 in a J-frame.I also have .40,.357SIG,.45ACP and .357 Mag. handguns but don't carry them on any regular basis.I have faith in my ability to place shots with 9mm and know that the rounds works just fine if I do my part.

It amazes me when people who should know better think it's a game of trumps: " I don't want to carry a 9mm and be outgunned by a badguy with a .45".Incredibly,I don't know how many times I have heard this.

I've carried everything from 22's to 45's, but was raised to believe that only the 357 and 45 are worthy. Hard to argue against either of those. For now it's the 45.

I own both a 9mm and a .45 and feel they will both do the job just fine. When we get CCW up here (think positive and visualize!) I will have no problem wearing either. I can put the rounds where they need to go pretty good out of either one, which is the most important part. Shot placement over hole size... But I can see the holes for the .45 a little easier than the 9mm! :neener:
