Not much love for Cold Steel I see. I think they make some pretty nice blades for the price. The mini AK-47 is a great little EDC knife. Most of the time I just carry a Leatherman multitool though.

Although I normally carry a medium stockman by whoever, including chinese made, if I were to need to open my knife with one hand it would be the Kershaw Whirlwind. I have a Kershaw OSO Sweet, but I like the USA made Whirlwind better. You can get one on ebay for less than $50.

I have not seen any good reason to pay $100 for such a knife. If I wanted a custom hunting knife I would be willing to pay what it would cost, but for the SD type knives I think it is just wasting my money.

However, to each his own, and if one just wants a $150-$300 folding knife such as the ones mentioned, then go for it. For me I'll stick with knives such as Case, Buck or Kershaw.

But then I never wanted a Mercedes auto either.

Regards,
Jerry

I voted "other".

Then again some of you figured I'd vote "other".
Some of you even have ideas as to my "druthers", on stuff like this.

My role around here is...well...not sure, but Staff sez I are good at it.

*grin*

usmccpl, no LEO in a regular US setting is just allowed to order citizens to empty their pockets unless he is at least conducting an "interview".

conwict you and I know he aint within the confines of the law doing that but he is and getting away with it. My stepbrother is a carpender and the new cop picked him up on his way home. When the cop stopped him he(the cop) pulled his duty sidearm pressed it to stepbrother's head and frisked him. This all happened cuz of a blown tail light. Stepbrother had a shingle knife in his pocket and the cop took it because and I quote "You cant have this. Its a concealed weapon." This all went down less than 100 yards from the job site where stepbrother was working.

to bad your step brother didnt contact his lawyer........chances are good hed be living in the mayors house with a nice former police officers badge on his mantle.

Chris Reeves Sebenza, Large. I lost my small once, wished to have another ever since. Now I go no where without my sebbie.

I keep a sheath knife in my bag, as large a one as I think I might need for the day.

I don't carry a large lockblade. I usually have on my belt a Victorinox Soldier (an old-school aluminum sided one, like a Scout or Camp knife, not the bizarro new one), and in my left front pocket, a Victorinox Executive (which is really all the knife I usually need in a day, but I digress). In my right rear pocket, I usually have a Case Slimline Trapper (single blade). If I'm at work, that Trapper might be in my front pocket, or another knife might be there, like a Queen large teardrop, or another Case like the Medium Texas Jack, or any of a number of others. If I'm not at work, my right front pocket is usually occupied by S&W.
