Isn't a browning HiPower kind of the same thing or is that more like a 1911?

Surely the 1911 crowd will show up soon.

Besides my "shiny sissy pistol" i prefer to carry Glocks.

the crowd may show up, but they'll be hard pressed to recommend a DA/SA 1911, hi-power or glock...i've never heard of one except custom pistols

S&W model 39

Only one of my 9mm guns has a manual safety, so that would be my favorite - the S&W model 39. I bought it new 40 years ago so I guess you could say I like the gun and have thoroughly tested it.

That 39 is nice!

But for me, it's easily this one (well..mine's .40s&w but same difference):

Pogo, that's a great shot of the pistol! They don't finish'em like that from the factory anymore. Thanks for sharing.

From DA pistols 92FS and H&K USP...and SA 1911. Slowly getting hang of 1911...afterall .45 is a .45:D

I´ve had 92FS for about 15 years...works like trains toilet, no problems:)
Trigger pull is a bit "long" though, requires training

H&K USP Stainless I´ve had about 10 years..much better trigger pull DA than Beretta 92FS.

My latest investment Springfield Armory 1911GI requires training after DA doublestack mag frame pistols but the trigger pull is great.

The only auto pistols I had shot until recently were 1911's and a couple different .22's. I've recently acquired a couple S+W's (3913 and 6906) and have been becoming more and more attached to them.

Dollar for dollar? Walther P1.

New, and with better capacity? CZ 75

For self-defense? None. Neither 9mm nor DA/SA are "plusses" in my book.:)

CZ-75b. My first handgun ever. A little heavy to carry for me but a beautiful firearm. I regrettably had to trade it for a XD-45C so I would have something to carry. (already had XD carry setup).
