Your Most Accurate Pistol

I've got a Ruger Charger with a nice scope that is dialed in at 50 yards and produces a pattern that you can cover with a small clenched fist. For a true hand-hold, I have a tough time beating a Walther P88C. It's incredibly good -- far better than my hand allows.

The most accurate handgun in my safe is a Lone Eagle by Magnum Research in 44 mag. It's a small canon, but it's accurate.

blue06van, thats cheating!

We had a XP100 22-250 while I was growing up. I could seemingly hit anything I could see. Crows where a rare sight round the house after about a week.

I know, it's just a 22, but it's still fun to shoot and pretty accurate,
No apology is expected for that around here. Besides, you and the rest of us with .22s just lost out to 1858rem for today's "Ammo Frugality" award. ;)

In my hands, so far, either a Python or a Woodsman. I need to shoot 'em some more to be sure. I've enjoyed some good shooting with a borrowed M41 in the past, too. :)

I shoot a softair 1911 looking thing in my office. Gave $8.00 for it at Wal-mart and $6.00 for 6000 or so plastic bb's. Is that more frugal?

(Although admittedly Rubber bands are more accurate. :})

Hmmm; just went out shooting. My .22 LR and .38 Spl groups looked like size F and 000 buck, respectively. Fortunately, I know the solution and I have a place where I can practice.

Easy choice for me. The Kimber Gold Match Target 1911.
If I am having a good day it will shoot a ragged hole all day long.

I made a 159 yard shot (lasered distance) from the back of my shed to a groundhog near a utility pole in the center of a field with a tuned up 1911 Caspian framed custom in 9mm, with a Clark scope mount and Leupold 2x EER. Here is the same pistol, less scope and mount, with mini sound suppressor.

Don't laugh at me guys, but MY most accurate pistol (and I only have 2:eek:) is my old stainless Rossi 851. It's a 4" barrel with adjustable rear sight and red ramp. A few weeks ago I took my 26 year old son out to do some target shooting together. He does not own any guns, and had never fired this gun before that day. I was in awe of how well he did with it. I was wasting bullets with my new 642 and he was in love with the 851. Most of our shots were within 10 yds. of the targets. He was often within 1" of the red bulls eye and was irritated that he couldn't hit closer. At the end of the session I set out 3 plastic one gallon water jugs, the same type that milk comes in. He stepped back to what I later paced out to be 100ft. and proceeded blowing all 3 jugs away.

Hey Resto Guy, don't apologize for the Rossi, the point I'm kind of hinting at is that some guns work well beyond their means when they are in the right hands. I don't know if its ergonomics or something, but it's not the gun being accurate by itself.

Springfield Lightweight Custom Operator, 4" barrel ,45ACP. Most accurate pistol I own.

pingpong, I agree with you completely. I have to admit that when it was my turn to shoot at the jugs (same distance), my first 2 rounds hit home. After 4 misses I reloaded and let him finish them off. I was very proud of his abilities after an hour with that gun.

My most accurate is now a polly... The Smith & Wesson M&P9 Pro Series can shoot circles around my 1911's that cost 3 times more.

If you have not shot one of these $600 wonders, then you are really missing something special.

Great job S&W!

.357 maximum blackhawk with 10.5 barrel and a red dot. It will place a ragged hole at 50 yards if I do my part.

My modified Springfield Loaded Target. (5" 1911)

3.5lb trigger
Custom Slide to frame fit job.
Slide mounted Ultra Dot Match dot scope
Match grade 200gr. LSWC's

I can consistently hit a three inch target at 50 yards with it.

Ruger GP100 6" I just started shooting silhouettes
and can get it out to hitting a sheep at 100 yards.
