I really liked my initial experience (limited) with the Glock 36 since I have only had the opportunity to hold it and look. I like the single stack since it makes for a nice frame that is easy to grip (but then again I also have a Sig P239---single stack). In particular, I would like to get your thoughts on this 45.

I really liked mine, but the 6 round capacity ultimately did it in for me. I never had an issue, a jam, or a FTF. It was ridiculously easy to pack around.

However, try as I might, I couldn't get past the capacity. Yeah, I know they make extensions, but the reason I bought a Glock was to make sure that I had reliability out of the box.

I ended up trading it for a G21. I never could warm up to the 30. 21 capacity with 36 barrel length. If I'm going to carry a gun that heavy when fully loaded, I'm just going to dress around a full size piece.

That said, if I could have afforded to keep both the 21 and the 36, I would have. It was a great little EDC if you require a .45.

I carried the Glock-36 for several years. It was the slimest 45 ACP pistol available at that time which provided 7 shots (6+1 in chamber). I found the gun to be totally reliable, easy to shoot and quite accurate. Currently the Kahr may be a tad smaller.
I still have the G-36 either in my car or in the house but opted for pocket carry of a Kahr PM-9 as I could not conceal the G-36 reliably at all times.

I really like mine, I couldn't get over what a great shooter it is. My other CCW in the 45 acp were CCO sized 1911's so I was comfortable with the 6+1.

I think Glock has a winner here Mild shooting for such a small lightweigt gun. You don't see many around here on the resale market and are hard to find new. IT is the redheaded stepchild of Glock since its a single stack but is exactly what I was looking for. To me the double stack G 30 just has to thick of a grip. I believe 6+1 with extra mags I will be fine. Enjoy a great gun.

One of the few Glocks that actually fits my hand, nice cartridge ... What's not to like?
The one I shot was also a very soft shooter.

Mine has been terrific, accurate, easy to shoot, and hits like a sledgehammer.

Glock 36

I am very satisfied with mine. It is a little small for my hand but I bought it because it was small. It is a reliable good shooter with nothing to snag clothing.

I ran a box of ammo through a friends G36 once. I have small hands and the grip seemed odd. Side to side it is thin but it is thick front to back. Overall I liked it but I settled on a G23.

If 7 rounds won't get you out of a fight....you have picked a fight in which you should be packing an M4.

My G36 is great...I do carry 2 spare mags...mostly in case of a malfunction though, I do not expect to find myself in a prolonged gun battle.

I had a Glock 36, and it was pure function, accurate, and compact enough. A solid performer. I have moved to the Glock 29. The G29 holds 10+1, and is more powerful. Equally accurate, but if one is packing a spare for the G29, you now have 21 rounds of potent, "Can I have your attention", kickass ammo, in a package ABOUT the same size as the G36.

Shot my brother-in-law's G36, and did not like the shape of the grip, nor the bite that the space between the mag and frame gave my fingers. The recoil seemed more pronounced as well, since the frame is so narrow and does not spread the recoil out over more palm surface. I like my G30 much more for a compact .45. If I want a concealable gun, I would rather go for the G27/G26.

I love mine. I'm 6 feet and 200 lbs and it disappears when I carry it. I can sit in the truck and it doesn't poke me or the seat. 6+1 capacity is fine. I have a spare mag if I need it and I do not feel "under gunned with 12 to 14 rounds of 45 ACP. Does anyone?

It points well, shoots well, and carries well. What more could I ask of a carry piece? For me it replaced my Sig P220...solely because it's so easy to carry that the odds are I'll actually have it on me if I ever need it. Other guns are too bulky for me.

I think I want one: I've rented them several times and they have consistently struck me as a solid carry gun.

I definitely like my G36 that I've had for two years now. The grip works for my hands, it is fairly slim, and it has no rail on the dustcover. I'm one of those guys that doesn't like rails on small carry guns.

The funny thing about the low capacity of 6+1 is that apparently this is good enough for people that are used to single stack pistols or revolvers.

Springfield is looking to introduce a single stack .45 ACP themselves and it can go down to 5+1 and has a 1/2" shorter barrel than the G36. I guess that means that Americans love the .45 ACP in all sizes and Springfield is going to jump in the single stack concealed carry game to get a piece of the pie.

That XD is pretty cool. It's smaller than the G36 and still able to launch heavy lead. I wonder how well it works?

Mine goes most everywhere with me.

Incredibly soft shooter, no failures to date, incredible shooter. My bug on-duty, and my off-duty carry. Only pistol I might replace it with would be the G30.

While I am 99% sure that I want the Glock 36----this would be my first polymer handgun since I love metal----, I am not completely convinced yet so I would still like more of your comments. Chicharrones, thanks for the info on the single stack XD---(not aware of that but I would like to know more) but I am inclined toward the indestructible Glock. Not concerned about 6 rounds because that is all I need----not bragging, just experienced. And to all, I am in agreement w/the Pearce extension---either 0 or +1. Looking forward to hearing more!

I rented one c. 2000ish and it actually performed quite well. For me to like it, though, I would rather see a full length grip frame and a flush fitting magazine with an extra round in it.

I picked one up back in November. It just felt "right" in my hand.
I've got about 700 rounds through it right now.
I don't recall a single malfunction of any kind.
Eats whatever I feed it and puts 'em right on target.

I've got a G17, G22, G27, and a 1911 to choose from each morning.
The G36 ends up in my belt every day.

Outstanding carry .45, I would highly recommend it myself. I have the Pearce +0 extensions as you can see and they make all the difference in comfort to me making the fit ideal in my hand. I absolutely love it.

Love mine. Usually carry ball or Pow 'R Ball. Very, very accurate too! Qualified with one for my first CHL (and it was a range rental gun!).
