Your thoughts: XD-9 subcompact vs. Glock 26

DHart it sounds like you did your homework. The XD had more of an upright 1911 style grip angle and the glock has the more extreme euro grip angle. The XD does feel pretty tall if you switch between it and a Glock. I agree about the trigger. The XD feels MUCH nicer due to the action difference. I also like the loaded chamber and striker indicators.
Both guns carry nice in an inside pocket of a leather jacket. I am always wearing one of them when I'm on my bike. Make sure the grip angle doesn't affect your draw due to the size or shape of your pockets (considering how similar the two guns are in size this does make a big difference).
I haven't been to A Place to Shoot in several years but it's only about 5 miles from my work. I also have wanted to try out a Kahr PM-9 so if you wanted to try out a G26 and XD9 without the rental fees and wouldn't mind me trying out your Kahr I could meet you there sometime.

Drew... that would be great... If you're interested I could bring the PM-9, a Browning Hi-Power in 40 (both of mine have had Don Williams triggger jobs and these guns are incredible .40 cal bullet launchers - very comfy to shoot as well), and PX-9, FN-HP in 9 (also with William's trigger job), G29... whatever... got some nice 1911's and S&W revos as well... bring ammo and you can shoot any of them that you like. I'll send a pm to you...

By the way, if you had to give up either your XD9-SC or Glock 26, which one would you keep?

We have two 26's which we are very pleased with. The oldest one for about 10 years with nary a bobble of any kind. Ironically I looked over a sub compact XD yesterday. I am not qualified to condemn it because I have never fired one. It appears to be a very nice pistola, but doesn't seem to sit as low in the hand as the 26. If I didn't already own the Glocks,I would be giving it a closer look for a compact carry piece.
