Went to a gun show near Wilmington today.

About the 5th or 6th table I came to had a NIB gun there for $300.
I looked it over and it was mint but, since I had been there only a minute, I decided to wander on and let the idea of buying that gun "gel" a bit.

30 minutes later I'm back at the table but some guy is buying it for $270 - out the door.

And what was this mint, NIB gun selling for $270 ????

A T/C .45 cal. Patriot :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::cuss:

I'm going to remember that one for the next time we get together. I'd get in line for the but kicking but I know that you've got firsts. I was at that show too. I looked for your hat. My decision to go was truly last minute or I would have called you, I was supposed to go to Indy for a motorcycle dealership show but it caved in at the last moment and I decided to go to the Pro gun show instead.

Dang ! Sorry I missed you ! I was there from about 11 to 1.

Was it just me or did you too see a lot of used guns priced higher than they could be bought new ?

While you were there did that fellow come on the PA and give his little spiel about "Ya Better Get 'im before the election because ALL the candidates are anti-gun and anti-gun show."

We were there at the same time! Yes, I did hear the announcements. I heard two gundealers talking saying that they love it when liberals are threatening to take over the government cause it's great for gun sales. Yeah, I agree the prices were high. I saw an H&R Springfield Stalker for $650 Good God I could have had a Pedersoli Kodiak 50 cal. at the last show for the same price.

I bet the Pro dealers are going to have their prices up in the clouds for a few shows before they connect that BS with the lack of sales.

Oh well.

Let me know when you're ready to burn some powder !

:)

How was the show? Was it very big? When they come to Athens it is very disappointing, disappointing as all get out. First time in Athens it was a good sized show, but now it gets smaller with each one. I am going to go to one of the other ones sometime, just curious how it was.

Hi Dwave...

There was quite a bit there and it seemed to be drawing a decent crowd.

Thankfully it wasn't completely the paramilitary stuff. The Goodman shows in Dayton are really rife with the "black rifle" dealers. Have pretty much given up on those shows.

Lot of shotguns and even a better-than-usual amount of black powder guns at Wilmington though.

Thanks Shawnee, I think I will have to check that one, or the Columbus one out sometime, maybe I will make it the Wilmington one so I can meet a few fellow THRers. I know when it is here in Athens, it's worthless. Not worth the money to get in.

If I promise to break my leg, will you lend it to me as the best lookin' crutch anyone's ever seen?

Though, that is a good looking piece - stand-alone and just for what it is. 'D say ye done okay. Looks like you've already done some good huntin'.
