Your safe the great lie

Around here and I am sure in many Cities across the United States the powers in charge tell us.. All you really need for your protection is a cell phone. Thats the great lie. I just keep reading about the rapes..drive by shootings..car jackings..home invasions... holdups..murders...gangbangers... I just don't understand how they can try pushing this cell phone stuff on us.:fire: What I do like reading is about someone standing their ground and using their guns to defend themselves.:)

Mybe I have missed the point entirely, but what does cell phones have to do with my safe?

Telephones and cell phones are fine, and the first option if under threat is always to call the police. But that is not always possible or there is not enough time for police to respond. That is when having a good gun and knowing how to use it pays big dividends.

(45 Fu, I think he means "you're safe". Spelling is not a strong suit for some folks.)

The cell phone is just another tool in the tool box, and should be used as the situation dictates. And it should by no means be the only tool available.

CELL PHONES......baahumbug!!!!!!

Just another tool used to help herd the sheep.
Why not just cram a leash up my a$$.
Why bother puting tracking chips in people when you can get them to put them in their pockets of their own free will.

How incredibly lazy have we become?

Better off investing that money on a good carry piece.

I'll get a cell phone when they make one that can fire a .45 bullet.

Come'on guys/gals, lay off the proper spoken word deal here. Geez, it's not the way the message is given, it's the message in itself. We may be high road but we don't have to be snobs.

As was said, Cell Phones are just another tool, to be used (if able due to the phones are RF and relay on the towers) in either the fore math or after math of the situation that may be presented. A gun (firearm) is a tool that can be used during that time that you need to make the 911 call.

I have smoke alarms in the house, fire exh.'s and extra gas in the shed. They are just tools to be used when I may need them.

I have a cell phone, and I know that I don't have service 100% of the time. Yet I also have a gun, of which I know will be in service 100% of the time (and if not, I have a backup to make up for that 1% chance that my main carry craps out).

Two major problems with a cell .. you need time to connect and ... time to relay information. All this in a situation where time is just not available and the brain may be far from fully coherent.

Further to that - the call if made requires a response ... more time lost.

Sure - have and carry a cell ... may just be at its most useful to summon help for another, but - as a tool for self help .... not top of the list!!

Since cell phones don't have to carried concealed, you grab the cell, throw it at the bad guy, while he's ducking, you dig your concealed weapon out of your clothes and exterminate the vermin.
Then go over and pick up the cell.

When the cops ask why you didn't call for help instead of doing a public service, you just shrug and say, it was broke.........:D

I always use my cell phone and my pocket knife to prove the "dial 911 and die" point to those who think that it will "save" them. I just hand them my phone, tell them to dial 911 and I'll wait till they get an operator and then ask them what will save them from me killing them with my knife while they talk to the operator. The only good 911 is for, is so you can have a taped record of the assault on you for court. If they are there to do me harm, dial 911 and then "they" die is more to my liking. :)

To put in the "intelligent mule" reply....

A couple of dozen cell-phones in a long boot sock might make a decent impact weapon....:neener:

I dont have to explain it to someone with a gun, just the nit wits. :)
