I have an 870 in 20 Gauge that I'd like to put a youth stock on with the shorter length of pull for my wife and daughters to use.

But, I'm confused by some of what I have read in various searches as to whether I need the specific 20 Gauge stock or if the 12 gauge stocks will fit?

The serial # is RS8***5V which an old Lee Lapin post would seem to indicate it's a 12 gauge frame designed for 2 3/4" shells. The barrel says 2 3/4" or 3" shells, but it may not be original to the gun. The finish is matte, but it's not an Express (I have two of those).

So, can I use the more commonly available twelve gauge stocks or must I look specifically for twenty gauge stocks?

Also, are there wood youth stocks for my shotgun? I'll go with synthetic if I must, but I'd rather have wood if I can get it.

And a bonus question! The piece has a 26" barrel which I find to be a bit long for HD purposes. Are there barrels in the 18"-21" range with Rem chokes available and ideally rifle sights? I'll go with a simple bead if I have too, but this would be a nice deer gun as well.
