Ok, I recently posted a video on Youtube of feral pig hunt I had more than a year ago, then I decideded to delete it form my memory card in hopes of using youtube to maintain it for future viewing and showing to friends.

The video showed me shooting a very large male with my Savage .270. I was using a less than ideal round and it took 3 shots to bring the pig down. Then I proceeded to shoot the pig in the head 7 times with a .22 that still didn't kill it. Then there is a close up of my cutting its throat with a knife as it squeelled and it was a very gorey, bloody, some what disturbing scene. It was the worst hunt of my life, but my friend taped it and I showed it to many people because it was amazing how tough the pig was.

After 4 short days on youtube, I signed on to see that I received numerous negative comments. People called me "murder, monster, fascist, neo-con, evil, hitler, stalin, Satan" I heard basically every insult you will ever hear in your life from hundreds of liberal imbeciles.

Then, the next time I signed on I was informed that my video was deleted because it was offensive and 'too violent'.

Meanwhile, there are videos on youtube of US soldiers being blown to bits, with video close-ups of their mangled body parts. These videos have literally thousands of comments and still survive on Youtube.

I sent numerous complaints to moderators of youtube and got many generic replies that basically amounted to 'tough cookies'. Then finally I got a reply via email from a moderator that actually personally attacked me for my video, and yet defended the 'free speech' of people who post videos of US troops and other HUMANS of being mangled and mutilated.

So what the **** is that about?

Discuss.

Poster sent me a video.

That seems very strange that they would allow that but not his video.

I think that perhaps you didnt put a warning in front of the video. That maybe the reason they pulled it. If you did then perhaps they should be boycotted.

Yeah, there's a sort of hypocrisy among a lot of places. For some reason, a lot of people tend to be more offended about violence when it's shown being directed at animals than at people. I think it's kinda sad, they must have such a downbeaten view of people that they would value animal life above human. Or perhaps some sort of desensitization by media where people are often shown being killed.

youtube is the biggest vid scene on the block

they stink and they own the vids on the innernet scene, we "neocons"
(whatever that means) have to get our rears in motion or our POV will be swept from the public eye.
All the big innernet concerns are liberal/fascist.
google
yahoo
youtube
myspace

All are run by libby/fascist.

Sure Murdoch owns myspace, but I got my old profile deleted for starting a minuteman group (it's "racist" to be vocal about a secure border)

It's because animals are seen as being "innocent" .. Kinda like children. What has a pig done to deserve such a death? The description of the video sounds pretty vicious
Also.. There's a lot of gun videos on youtube.

It was inhumane. If you won't use enough gun then shoot better.

Why didn't you finish the animal with the .270 if you were close enough to shoot it seven times in the head with a .22?

I think you and your buddy posted the video because you are bloodthirsty and wanted to boast about the gore you wrought.

"If the facts don't match our theories... to bad for the facts" - Communists

Simply put it, your propaganda of "a free man hunting" for dinner using an evil gun, and slaughtering a big, is not what you call zii progressive thought.

DOOD, some of those morons who commented don't know where beef, port, and potatos come from.

EDIT:
What has a pig done to deserve such a death?
aaaaa, picked a BAD place to sit on the tree of predator/pray :D

some good points

above. I had a bad hunt once...had to resort to killing the beast with a tomahawk. I would never have displayed a video of the ordeal. It pained me to the core, and not because I am a wacko PETA head or anti hunter - quite the opposite. i see hunting as an art and a valuable practice that keeps us meat eaters in touch with REALITY. Even so, it sounds like the video was a little overkill. I disagree with them showing my brothers in arms being blown apart, I hate that they have mexican invader propoganda all over youtube, I despise the flowery rants of terrorists and glory to the Jihad/Hezbollah/al Qaeda/ BS that is all over that filthy site. However, we get farther in our cause by demonstrating our compassion and the role we play as hunters and caretakers of the land. The details of the hunt are not for the masses, nor are the details of the war. Not because those details are destructive themselves, but because the masses are totally and completely suffocated in a bubble of self-indulgence and "righteous" arrogance. . . . .

it takes a higher man to endure violence and understand its place in the natural world. 'Our' world is filled with lowly men.

small steps friend, small steps

Using an inappropriate round for the game that you're hunting. Check.

Using an underpowered secondary for your coup de grace. Check.

Posting video of said hunt on teh intarwebs. Check.

Posting results in OP being flamed to a smokey, yet delicately flavored crisp. Check.

Burn it to CD next time.

They are owned by Google, speaks for itself.

With that said, why would you want to post a video of a botched hunt? You messed up, learn from your mistakes on that hunt and move on. I don't see how posting what you did could have come to ANY good for anybody and quite frankly it reflects poorly on the hunting community as a whole.

WTG portraying your fellow hunters in a VERY bad light and giving the animal rights folks more ammo for their cause. You think something like that will impress the girls? What were you thinking?

Know your medium, know your environment. I think this falls under the rubric of Situational Awareness.

YouTube is a moral landfill. It illustrates perfectly what our seminal thinkers warned us about "democracy" gone wild.

You should not have been surprised, knowing that footage of fallen American soldiers was being passed around with morbid glee, that your gorefest would be dragged about as an example of vicious, "psycho" gun owners.

YouTube doesn't help America. Your video didn't help the cause of RKBA.

So let's start our own video site. With blackjack, and hookers!

We can call it Gunvideos.com or something, and we can counter the "neolibs" or whatever you want to call politically correct sissies.

I dunno.

When it comes to archiving your important digital pics/video never trust anyone else to hold it for you. Always archive it on your own machine with a backup to hard media (archival quality CD/DVD).

Also, when it comes to video that the anti's could use to make the rest of use gun owners/hunters look like a bunch of bloodthirsty brainless goons (repeated shots to the head of the pig then slitting the throat while it's squeeling) just don't post it on the 'net, okay?

Brad

Why should we have to be paranoid? Why shouldn't the antis have to be paranoid about their brainless statements making them look like idiots?

Bring it on, I say. Get them used to it.

I'm failing to see the angst here.

Okay, you botched a hunt. That's something you should be ashamed of. I don't normally post things that I'm ashamed of on the internet for 10 million people to make fun of. If I do post something stupid, I shouldn't then be shocked when I'm insulted for it.

I'm not a PETA lover. I've killed literally hundreds of animals. I tried to do it fast everytime, but sometimes it didn't work out that way.

As for Youtube being liberal, that is where I post videos of our machine gun shoots, and get nothing but excited, positive comments. Youtube is made up of people posting whatever they feel like.

Personally, I've been in blood and guts up to my elbows, and I still think I would have been offended by you taking forever to kill that pig.

BTW, I've been on hog/dog hunts where the dogs pin the hog by grabbin' it by the ears. It is dispatched by cutting its throat. Guys with hog dogs usually don't want guns around, might hurt the dogs. It's big sport around here. I don't consider it all that cruel. It's life. It's predation with lesser tools, the old school way.

On the subject of Youtube hypocrisy, agreed.

On the subject of the hunt being inexcusabily borked up, I agree with that assessment too.

YouTube is a moral landfill.

++ longeyes Nicely said. It's . . . pithy . . . and compact.

++ gunsmith

Here's a neo-rhetorical question:
Why is it that there is such a dearth of public resources of the Google type in the hands of conservatively-oriented outfits? Is it just my perception? I can't accept that brilliance and inventiveness are solely the domain of neo-liberal thinkers. There's too much evidence to the contrary. What am I missing?

This IS the HIgh Road....

And BTW - .270 is plenty of round for hog with the right bullet and shot in the right place.

+1 to those posts that encourage thinking before posting things on the net, or be prepared for the verbal onslaught by all of the eWarriors.

Merry Xmas to all!

Michael

Hmm? I've shot hogs with a 270. and a 260. Never had one problem. And I've hunted them only twice... Sounds that hunt was a Murphy.

All I can say is, what did you expect? It's no secret that YouTube is a SP dominated site. But that video sounds horrible. Even other hunters were going to frown at that. Is it hypocritical for them to leave up vids of soldiers getting killed and pull your hunt vid? Yea it is. But you had to know that it was going to ruffle feathers. You yourself admitted it was a bad hunt. And I have to agree you shot it ten times and had to finish it off with a knife. the cloe-up of you cutting it's throat is just poking PETA with a big stick. I just hope it was deleted before PETA got their hands on a copy of it. It's anti-hunting propaganda to them. They will make it sound like every hunt goes like that.
