well, I bought myself a Yugo M57 Tok at the local gander Mt., $199.00 out the door. really nice little pistol, functions great, really packs a punch!!! the pistol came with two mags, a holster & a cleaning rod. one year warranty on all firearms purchased from this store. I found that I cannot use one of the mags at all, the follower hangs up, and the spring just looks wrong. I took the bad mag back, and the guy at the counter told me to look on several websites for a good one. they were busy, so I left the mag there for someone to look at. question, should this not be covered under warranty, and should it not be their problem to find a replacement? (or repair it). I have to go back there soon, maybe they will make good on this. am I being unreasonable with them? thanks A.J.

Two things: I've read some M57 were shipped out with two magazines, however one was the proper M57 magazine and the other an improper TT-33 magazine meant for other Tokarevs (that holds one less round).
I believe this was only done by SOG, but it's entirely possible mistakes were made by others as well.

The other thing was that even though my first M57 was received with 2 proper magazines, on had a follower that was obviously bent. It would feed just fine, but completely lock up the pistol on the last shot with the magazine requiring a forceful tug to remove from the mag well. I have yet to fix this as I just use the magazine from my 2nd M57. I would think about 5 minutes and a Leatherman will fix the problem just fine.

Hopefully you can get the magazine issue squared away, as they were ridiculously expensive last I checked. Still worth the investment though; the Yugo M57 is an excellent pistol, IMO. I love the two I currently have and sometimes kick around the idea of purchasing a 3rd rather than the Polish Tok that I'm hunting for as they fit me so well.

Sounds like there's a lot of demand for M57 magazines.

Flash, thanks for the heads-up on these mags! I had no idea anyone was making them from scratch yet. I'll definitely put in an order when they're available again.

thanks for that link!!!! I really like my M57, my magazine issue is not that big of a deal! great value for a nice handgun. someone else had them on sale for $199.00 on line recently, but don't remember who, point is, they are out there and they are nice!!!!

Was it on sale? Two local GM stores had unissued ones with holster plus to mags for $279.
I would expect them to provide you with spare magazine that works.

To the OP - I think you should expect GM to make good. Might this follower tweak offer any help?

Regarding CCSA mags mentioned, I just received three of the new version and am having trouble. Does anyone else have the new ones and do you have this same problem?:

They fail to disengage that mag/trigger safety arm inside the frame. With any of the three in, the trigger doesn't budge. With either of the two Zastava mags in, it moves freely because those mags disengage the trigger safety.

At the point where the seated mags contact that safety arm (about 1 inch down from the top), the Zastava mags measure 12.38mm & 12.30mm. The new CCSAs measure 11.91mm, 11.92mm & 12.03mm. They're slightly narrower, and that would appear to account for the problem.

How are others doing with the latest CCSA M57 mag?

Thanks.

PS - Sorry, this is the link I originally meant to include. The other may also be of interest though.
