I have 2 mausers and the M48 throws rounds across the room, but my 24/47 barely drops rounds out of the mag, and some times, not at all. I replaced the ejector, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you replaced the ejector, I would think that the extractor is the culprit. Check to see that there isn't a bur on the underside, as well as cleaning out any gunk. It may have too little tension, and barely hanging on to the case until it hits the ejector, or it may have too much tension, not wanting to let the case go easily. Either one will cause weak ejection.

the ejectors are hand fitted to each rifle and come in several different sizes and profiles, ya will need to hand fit the anchor point first and then fit it to the bolts groove, if ya got one that simply dropped in then most likally its not got the correct profile to tension it correctly at the rear or it isn't riding deep enough in the groove on the bolt up front...... ya always start with an oversize ejector and then fit it to the gun. Also they vary from country to country as well.

When I have to replace missing ejectors on Mausers at Omega Weapons I just get out the box of em and start testing for profile to get em into the housing first and once I have a pile that will fit the housing and allows the screw to pass through then I start trying them in the rifle till I find one that just barely drags against the bolt and work it down from there...... new ones are generally oversized so they can be fitted

WWI and WWII Milsurps were very much totally hand fitted guns even the MG 34 machine guns had almost zero parts interchangability from one gun to the next due to extensive hand fitting of parts, the Enfield and Springfield 03 were the same way...... thats what makes em such great guns today they just go with looser tolerances for the sake of interchangability etc...
