Yugo SKS muzzle threaded?

I'm about to head out to a gunsmith friend of mine to help me install the final compliance piece on my Yugo SKS, the muzzle brake. The new brake is threaded, but on the phone, he told me that the old grenade launcher pulls straight off. Does anyone know for sure?

Ok, doing my own research, it shows that some KA legal ones were 'slip, pin, and weld', but most are right-hand threaded, very tight, will require a pipe wrench and a torch to get off. Is this everyone else's experience?
