Does anyone here know if the Zenith Z-5P will allow you to run the A3 collapsible stock? I keep getting conflicting stories on this. Some people say yes, others say the tabs for the receiver have to come off. Atlantic Firearms says that all the HK MP5 accessories will work other than the trigger pack but I just can't tell. I would love to get one of these things and SBR it but I don't want to spend $300 on a stock if its not going to do what I want it to. Can someone help?

The "K Guns" like the 5P are designed to use a different stock interface. The interface has two holes for cross pins; one at the top and another at the bottom. The MP5K PDW type stock is what is typically used for the K receiver. The reinforcement tabs at the rear of the receiver will block the travel of the legs found on the A3 stock, which was designed to be used with a normal "full sized" MP5. The normal full-sized MP5 stocks (including the A3) use a single push pin at the bottom.

What you propose, a normal full-sized type stock on a K gun, was one of the driving forces for the development of the "reverse stretch" guns. If you really want to use regular type MP5 stocks and not the double pin K style stocks, then I would recommend you get a reverse stretch and be done with it.

Be aware that in the past, Zenith has incorrectly labeled one of their guns as a "reverse stretch" when in fact, it was not. A real "reverse stretch" should have a K front end mated to a full sized receiver.

That's what I'm talking about. That very pistol is denoted RS for Reverse Stretch, but it's just a full size MP5 pistol.

If you want the shorter bbl and hand guard setup of the MP5k/PDW, then you'd want a REAL reverse stretch.

Does Zenith or MKE make a real reverse stretch? I was told by Atlantic Firearms that the A3 stock would work on the RS (the one linked above) and the pistol versions other than the K model. However, I do not see how it would work on the z-5P model with those tabs in place and a shorter receiver. I would love to have a real reverse stretch but I am not sure where I can find a clone that is a real reverse stretch that meets the quality of the Zenith models. I know Dakota Tactical can do one but we are looking at $4000+ for one done right and a considerable wait time. Since you seem to be very knowledgeable on these guys then can you recommend a model or someone that makes the real reverse stretch model?

Bad timing, unfortunately. Most Reverse Stretch guns are going to have been custom build jobs. DJ Getz did offer Reverse Stretch guns, but from what I understand he is no longer in the gun business. If a Reverse Stretch is really what you want, then you would have to really hound the used market.

For me, personally, I have a full sized MP5 SBR with many different sets of furniture, so I have been able to successfully shake off the desire to buy a K gun or a Reverse Stretch. When I get bored with it, I just change it up. It is easily the most amusing firearm I own.

So, if I was to get that MKE pistol denoted with the RS, then I could run the A3 style stock with no problem, correct? I just can't run it on the shorter one. I don't mind the size of the one denoted RS from them. I prefer the shorter one but would be happy with either. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, that would be a regular MP5 pistol and you could use the collapsible A3 stock.

You have lots of options for outfitting the regular ole full-sized Mp5...

The grip is a Tango Down stubby with a quick detach lever. The suppressor is an SWR Octane, now being sold under SilencerCo.

Hope that helps!
