What to do while recovering from surgery.

You can ankle carry or carry off body. As far as boredom, movies, gun mags, check some of the other gun boards, and spend some time dryfiring every day. I've done four stints of surgery recovery in the past decade, and yes, the time passes slowly. Dry firing and practice your weapon...

    Belly Band Help

I've used the belly band, smart carry, ankle holsters, and shoulder holsters when belt holsters won't work. After using them all quite a bit, I no longer use belly band and almost never use a shoulder holster. For tucked in dress code, my best option is ankle carry (95% of the time now). If...

    CCW & body armor

To those who advocate wearing body armor for civilian ccw, I would ask if you are following through in protecting yourselves in other areas of risk to that same degree? Do you buckle up every time? Do you exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, and maintain good cardiovascular health? Do...

Four teenagers, What would you do?

razor, it's prudent to expect and prepare for the worst. Statistically, we'll very likely never need a gun for self protection, but many of us tote one all the time. I think Tital was right on the money by assuming hostile intent and planning accordingly. The stakes were a lot higher since...

Four teenagers, What would you do?

In that they focused their attention on you and moved toward you, and it's 4 on 1, pick up a rifle, load it and repeat your instructions to leave. Or you could just leave and take your kids out of the drama.

"Stop right there!" : The 'line in the sand' or ringing the fight bell?

By staying in the car, you can still drive off if the other guy keeps elevating the threat. Drive off a short distance, wait for the police, return when they arrive. During all this you can also be on the phone with dispatch. Again, its not macho or manly, but it is consistent with the...

"Stop right there!" : The 'line in the sand' or ringing the fight bell?

Yes, it was escalation on the part of the guy walking toward you, and it would be a good idea to tell him to stop. It would also be a good idea to stay in your car while he's mad. Not very macho, but likely your best de-escalation route.

To Carry Or Not To Carry...OC/Mace

OC is always a good option to have, and even more crucial for those who have no hand-to-hand skills.

Don't mention it. They won't care. You have nothing to gain by mentioning it.

Help me conceal my carry weapon

Congrats on making the decision to go armed. Be advised, however, that it is unhandy and inconvenient, especially at first. If you stick with your decision, you will in the end make some adjustments to your wardrobe. I do not think you'll like shoulder carry for extended periods of time...
