I noticed that too. I suspect it has something to do with their VIP program taking all of the shipping resources and leaving the regular customers high and dry.
The affect on the resale value doesnt concern me. At present, the difference between a new Blackhawk and a new Vaquero is around $100. Sometimes I see used Blackhawks priced right that tempt me. The rounding of the sharp corners on a Blackhawk sounds like a fun project that I think would...
Maybe this is a dumb question but here goes: Can I take a stock Ruger Blackhawk ( 45 colt ) and a file and round-over the topstrap and maybe the base of the front site? My goal is to smooth over the right angle edges to make it look more like a Vaquero. Assuming that I dont go too crazy with...
I need a handgun that I can place in a toolbox that I cannot worry about. It will be in a holster, banged around a lot, will not bother me if it goes missing, and inexpensive. My current thoughts are that a HiPoint will fill this role. My question is: Will a HiPoint go "bang" when needed? I...
Including revolvers and autos, what is the best Taurus handgun ever produced? It doesnt matter what the caliber is, is there a Taurus handgun that, as a general rule, is a good handgun value?
I know that there are exceptions to the rule for every model but I am looking for the generally...
take the barrel and a wetstone and shave a few thousands off of each side. if you have a micrometer you can compare your LW to the stock Glock barrel. This is what I did and no problems since. First thing I would do is use a micrometer and take some measurements. Compare it with the stock...
I am considering the purchase of the Ruger Blackhawk convertable 45LC/45ACP revolver. Most of my current reloading is for the XD45. I am using the Lee Factory Crimp for my 45ACP reloads. Since the Blackhawk does not use moonclips will I need to adjust my 45ACP crimping methodology for reloads...
I had the same issue. I mic'd out the outside dimensions of the chamber area and found it to be about four thousands larger than the stock barrel. I took a wetstone and removed equal amounts of material from both sides. After that no problem. I didnt change any springs either. YMMV
I agree and I am in the same boat as you. I've given up on DW and I am going to focus on getting a Fusion Arms 1911. It is a shame at what Dan Wession has done.
I'd reload it if I could find some 380 brass. Starline Brass just moved their expected in-stock date out to 3/15. They've been out of stock for 14mos or so now
Starline brass has more brass on backorder than in stock....380 availablity time is now 3/15.....based upon their projections the ammo situation has gotten worse....it has been over a year since the ammo inventories have been "normal"...wally world still has more empty shelves than full....I've...
