I have:
five 9x19mm
one .40SW
one .45ACP
one 9x18mak
one 12ga.

Of my 5 nine milimeters, two of them are actually the same model, one with a manual safety and one with just a decocker ;)

2 5.56 mms. 1 AR15A2 full size CMP match gun, one M4 carbine set up for practical use.

2 7.62 AKs. Bought a Saiga, but then realized that I needed one the way it was meant to be set up to satisfy my AK craving.

2 9mms. 92FS and CX-4. The 92 was my first pistol, and the carbine's a fun little gun... and my girlfriend likes it.

Soon to be 2 .45s. An XD service and a 1911. The XD is my IPSC/IDPA gun right now, and I like the 1911 my brother has.

i used to have a collection that spanned many manufacturers and calibers.

however, i recently consolidated a good chunk of my "SHTF reserve" to AR's and Glocks (several of each identical model and caliber - .223 and 9mm) so that they could share standard widely-available parts and eat readily-available ammo.

the "fun" collection remains eclectic, but less so than before.

I own multiple guns for the following calibers...

7.62x39
.223
.22lr
30-06
.45acp
12ga

When gun shopping I always try to keep with calibers I already own... it makes it easier to buy/store ammo.

I have three in .30/06. One isnt mine, but is kept in my safe. Two 7.62x39 and two 7.62x54R. I see more chambered for 54R in the future though

Four rifles in 7.62x54r
Two Ruger revolvers in 357 mag
Two Sig pistols in .40 S&W
Two AKs in 7.62x39
Two Mausers in 6.5x55
Three rifles in .30-06

I buy guns of the same caliber to simplify ammo purchases and also as a failover in case one gun breaks.

I like to adopt orphan guns!! If it is inexpensive and needs minor work (or even if it is just inexpensive) it goes home to keep my other guns company. For example there is a seller on GunBroker who sells a lot of
"distressed" or unpopular guns at great prices. For instance 2 weeks ago I bought a Ruger P94 in great condition for $200.00, last week a S&W model 15 in good mechanical condition for $175.00 but needs to be refinished and probably should be recrowned but it shoots very well so that is optional. This week a S&W model 19 which needs to be reblued but shoots well and is mechanically good for $205.00. I like project guns - restoring an abused gun or building a custom gun. Collecting and shooting guns in competion or just plinking is my hobby - some play golf, restore or race cars, drink in bars and chase women but this is what I chooes to squander my money on. I spend about what I would have paid to buy them new but I end up with choice better than new CUSTOM guns for what I spend plus have a lot of fun and learn alot. My wife once ask me how many guns I own and I replied "I don't know exactly how many I have but would know if one were missing". 7-.38/.357s, 8-9mms, 5-.44mag, 5-.45ACPs, 5-.40 S&Ws and 1-10mm then there's the rifles.

6.5x55 - Swede M96 and Rem M700
.30-06 - M1 and 1903
9mm - Star BM and Hi-Point carbine
8mm Mauser - various mausers
.22 - lots
12ga - Rem 870 and Browning A5

I do I do I do

2 Savage model12 BVSS's in 223

2 Savage Model 12 VLP's in 204 Ruger

2 Olympic Arms AR-15s in 223

6 Ruger Vaqueros in 45 colt

1 Bond Derringer in 45 Colt

1 Marlin 94 and 1 Uberti 73 clone in 45 colt

2 Ruger single six Vaqueros (Vaquerito's) in 32 H&R mag

2 Glock model 23s in 40S&W

1 Ruger Mark II in 22, 1 Marlin 97 in 22, 1 Ruger 77 in 22 and, 1 Ruger 10-22 in 22

2 Norinco 97s in 12 guage

2 hammered doubles 12 guage

1 mossberg 590 12 guage

1 Remington 1100 12 guage

Soooo, the answer is no I don't have 2 guns in the same caliber. I have 4 22's, 2 204s, 4 223s, 2 32 H&R mags, 2 40S&Ws, 9 45 colts and 6 12 guages. Reason, when I find something I like I stick with it. If one is good 2 is twice as good.:D

I have 2 .22 rifles -- bought one myself and inherited the other from my father.

I own 2 .38SP revolvers, I Colt Official Police for a bedroom gun, and a Rossi Snubbie for car.
I own a collection of BlackPowder revolvers in the same caliber ... since some are different designs.

Right now i have only one round chambered in both rifle and pistol that is a 22 lr. I think everyone should own both. they are just fun to shoot and good pratice. as well.

Multiples in...
.380 ACP
.38 Special
.357 Mag
9mm
.40 S&W
.45 ACP
.223/5.56
7.62x39

Because my wife loves me very much.

I'm kind of surpised

That I have the high count of 9 guns in one caliber and that it is 45 Colt to boot. I will not be surpised when someone comes on with 30 or so guns in 22 caliber.

Why? I am not a hunter. I believe in being armed for defense of myself and my family.

I want guns that use commonly available ammo that I can find at WallyWorld. Ammo common in police, military, and personal defense weapons. Ammo useful against 2-legged predators or for lots of practice.

Multiple guns in: 22 LR, 7.62 NATO, 7.62x39, .38sp, .45acp, 9mm Luger, 20 gauge. Soon to be 2 in 5.56 NATO (have one)

5 - 12 ga's. (3 870's, 1 Mossy 835, 1 Rem 31)
3 - .45's (all Ruger's P90/97/345, same mags for all)
3 - .22's (Marlin 60, Ruger 10/22, Ruger 22/45)

The only caliber that I don't have more than one in are 223, 270 win, 480 Ruger, and 12 ga. These are all calibers that I don't shoot often, but have periodic prolific use of ammunition in each especially 223. Used to have more shotguns, but stopped small game hunting with s-gun and got rid of them. Long guns take up a lot of storage space. 22LR... let's just say I have more than a few. I collect and shoot them.
