This thread gives you the urge to post something "better" than the next guy relative to caliber. More is better? Yeah, probably. Although I didn't list numbers, I'm pretty impressed with some of the caliber lists.

Heck, I even have the same model in different barrel lengths.
Me too. Diamondbacks

I reload so more than 1 gun in a caliber saves me money on Reloading dies.
for now I just have 2 .40S&W but I am looking for another .357 and .308 and .22 and 12ga.

9mm: two pistols, four SBRs, one carbine
.223: five rifles now, another couple on the way, plan on SBR'ing some
.308: five, two belt-feds, two Israeli FALs, one Israeli k98

Why?

Well, I can chalk some up to his 'n' hers, but also I don't like selling guns.

Practical? Some of these are redundant -- which means potential "parts guns" for if/when parts get rare or controlled.

I'm jealous of you all. I only have 2 guns: 1 S&W M&P 9 and 1 Win 94-32 in .32 w.s. Therefore, it's not by choice that I don't have any duplicates, I'm just starting out. However, my next two guns will be a 12 gauge and a 1911 in .45. There's just so many great guns out there that I want that there is no need to duplicate. However, I want to get a BHP as well. Maybe that will be my second 9. Even so, it comes in .40. Maybe it will be my first .40. Woot!

3x2x2

I have 2x 22 Hornet= T/C Contender pistol and Brno 110 single shot break open rifle. 2x 22 LR Anschutz rifle and Anschutz bolt lock pistol and 2x.357 Rem Maximum T/C Contender pistol and Dan Wesson Super Max revolver. Kauko. P.S: Why. Because....**** hapends

Currently I have a Mosin Nagant, a Lee Enfield Mk4 and a Remington 710. Although they are 7.62, .303 and 30-06 respectively they all take the .311 bullet head - which is very convenient when you're a handloader.

Yes, I own two 40 caliber pistols, a Springfield XD-40 and a Taurus Mil-Pro 40. The reason is simple, the XD is my home defense/range gun and the Taurus Mil-Pro is my CCW gun. The Mil-Pro is far easier to conceal compared to the XD, plus its significantly lighter.

Yes. At least nine different cartridges that I have anywhere from two to ten firearms chambered for. :D Why not? Each firearm is different and that's what counts to me. ;)

.22 rifle and revolver-little game and plinking fun
.357 levergun and 2 revolvers-bigger game and bg's

Minority report

She said four total. So if I want a new one, I have to trade up. 12 ga, Bushy AR, bolt .308 and my SA SS Champ .45.

Yes, I too own more than one gun of the "same caliber".

Heck, shooting CAS requires two handguns, so it just makes sense to have two of the same caliber. "On the street" I like having ammo interchangeability between the BUG and the Primary as well.

Biker

2x 22Lr Marlin mod 60 given 2 me by my stepdad and charter arms Ar-7 Scout I got just cause i liked it
2x 410 A NEF and a H&R pretty much the same gun jus got a realy good deal on em

Well you have to take the Mosin Attraction Principle into affect. Studies have shown that the ownership of one Mosin-Nagant rifle leads to a high probablity of subsequent Mosin-Nagant purchases.

I currently have 2 Mosins, but they don't get fed out of the same trough. My Tula M91/59 is fed surplus while my Romanian M44 scout setup only gets fed non-corrosive Silver Bear.

Yes, I have differing weapons all using same ammo.
22LR revolver, pistol, rifles,
38/357 revolver, carbine
9mm pistol, carbine
40SW pistols
44 mag revolver, carbine, single shot
45 colt revoler (SAA, S&W DA)
12 ga pump, single, double, semi
223, 308, 7.62x39, some times bolt & semi auto some times folding stock and fixed stock
If I can afford it why not?

I own several 30-06s and all of them are military surplus. One I have owned since '84 and dead accurate. They weren't playing around when they built those things. We shot the pieces outta the germans in WW1 and II with them.

Simple logistics, of course. Magazines/speedloaders and other ammo-toting gadgets can be shared by multiple weapons. Plus, I am not a collector, per se. I know guys who like a certain model of firearm, so they set the goal of collecting one in each chambering ever made for that firearm.
