This made me laugh so hard! Yes I have done this, only I call it "doing the Tony Montana". Not the sort of behavior I practice at the local shooting range. But I must admit that in the privacy of my own property, when knowone else can see me, that I cannot resist the urge of "doing the gangsta" or the "Tony Montana". Naturally, most of my shots don't even hit the target. Sure is a good "stress reliever" though.

I’ve shot a BUG match where it was advantageous to shoot reach around a corner “gangster like” and double tap a target, before moving off in the opposite direction. It got some laughs but was fast and down zero.

My son carried a friend to the range and the newbie tried one shot gangsta' style. The recoil rotated the newbie's writst and the slide slapped the side of his forearm - end of gansta' style shooting.

I usually shoot my pistol one-handed (strong or weak hand) canted slightly, but that's about it.

Ammo is too expensive these days to waste on tomfoolery like gangsta-style shooting. :)

Pro Cop Gangsta Style Shooting School!

While Gangsta Style shooting does not appeal to me, I really had to see how a Professional Cop would teach Gangsta Shooting at a school to a full classroom.

This is not something I would encourage, but it is well worth a look! You know about "How To" videos; this is not one of those.

No. I like to hit what I'm shooting at, or at least as close as my shaking hand will allow.

Hitting a man sized tartet every time at 70 yards is good enough for me, sideways just doesn't cut it.

Taught by a highly qualified instructor:

Indoors, turning a corner, pistol held close to the face and turned sideways, lead the turn with the gun, sight down the 'side' of the slide.

Keeps the gun safe, provides minimum target to the bad guy, surprisingly accurate.

Poll should add: Periodic practice and when the situation requires

Weak hand only shooting, I still hold it upright.

2. Members of the United States military are trained to hold their rifles sideways when wearing gas masks, as the design of the mask is too bulky for standard sighting.

NO - We are trained to cant the weapon enough to see the sights through the eye of the mask. We are not trained to hold the gun at a 90 degree angle, but closer to 45 degrees. If you have your canister on the left side of your mask (for a right handed shooter) you don't even need to go a full 45 to get a good sight picture. If you leave it on the right side of the mask, then you do have to go to about 75 degrees to get a sight picture.

I always end a trip to the range with a loud "break yo self foo!" full 90 degrees while leaning back with my last bullet if no one was around

sure most of the time it never hits my target
but it is extremely satisfying and a major stress reliever

but once it actually landed about half inch next to the bullseye, i had a great laugh about it and it totally made my day.

Tried it ONCE "just for grins" to see what it was about.

My GI-45 responded by throwing the empty directly in my face, between eyes & glasses.

i did it once with a sig mosquito, it was kinda fun but i'll need to try it again for a definate answer.

I tried it once to see what would happen. I still hit the target, but it was more difficult, requiring more concentration, and the hits were unsurprisingly horizontally strung. I can't say I would never use it again, though. But I am not going to waste a lot of ammo practicing it.

I also tried it just to see how well it worked. As I expected, it didn't. I see no reason to ever do it again, except maybe to demonstrate stupidity to a third party.

I voted never, because I think it seems absolutely stupid and can't see myself hitting anything like that
