hi anybody knows if high capacity mags for marlin 70p are still available??

Marlin does not make them anymore. National makes larger mags but I have heard nothing but very bad reports on them.

Marlin has made 15 and 20 round mags that will fit the older Papoose and Ramline and Butler Creek made 20 and a 30 round. They will not work in the newer cast receiver Papoose without a slight modification. There is a small U-shaped piece cast into the magazine well that prevents the high-cap mags from working. With 30 seconds and a Dremel tool this can be removed. However, finding any magazine over 15 rounds is near impossible. The Marlin 7, 10 and 15 round mags work flawlessly, and as cheap as they are you can stock up.

I own 5 Papoose rifles from an early wood/blued model with milled receiver and hex shaped barrel nut to two identical 70PSS models I bought last year as truck guns. They are great rifles and I highly recommend them. Also, the newest 70PSS has two screws in the recoil plate that allows the plate to be removed and the stock to be filled with survivial items. I made paracord slings for mine and attached a mini phillips screwdriver to the sling.
