My Power Extractor broke!

ILast week I bought a 7.45 LDA from Para and when I took it to the range with 200 rounds of Winchester white box it shot 119 rounds then failed to eject
I locked the slide back and dropped the magazine and out comes the extractor in three pieces
I called Para today and told them about it and they said that it was "unusual" Duh
Here's the kicker; I have to pay to ship it to them for repair. They gave me shipping instructions and then told me to ship it UPS. When I send a 627 back to Smith & Wesson they mailed me a shipping label and I called to arrange a pickup, never had to leave the house.
So I sent it UPS ($42) but I won't be taking the $99 night sight offer.

But you know until it broke, this little gun was really impressing me with its accuracy and fit. It shot great (right up until the extractor broke)

I think the design good but apparently they could not resist the temptation to MIM the complex shape of the hook. Boo, hiss.

I think the extractor as originally designed by JMB is more than good enough if made as he specified. When you cut cornors crap results no matter who designed it!

John Moses Browning designed the extractor to be a flat spring and the proper material is spring steel. If manufacturers would take the time and money to make them this way we would not be seeing all these broken extractors. I know MIM is cheap, but makes a poor spring, so to use MIM a new extractor design is required, then it still breaks and has to be replaced. Are manufacturers really saving any money?

did know what he was doin. Just make the freakin' things outta 1090 and
temper'em! It ain't rocket science! They could do it in 1912 fer cryin' out loud!

Guess it pisses'em off that they can't outsmart a guy born in the middle
of the 19th century.

JEEEEZ! Enough with the extractors already...Make'em outta the right stuff
and they'll work.

Para made a copy of the AFTEC using cheap materials, and got the same result as when they made a copy of the Browning-design extractor using cheap materials. Go figure.

The original extractor design wasn't broken. It didn't need to be fixed or redesigned.

Just another useless gun gimmick.
