Opinions On FS Reloading

Anyone here ever order anything off of FS Reloading? Came across their website the other night when searching for Lee products and it looks like they have some of the best pricing on factory Lee items. Have a list of things I want, but just wanted a second opinion before I start handing out money to websites I'm not familiar with.

I researched them for a while late last year. I ended up spending a lot of money with them. They shipped fast, packed well, and delivered everything. No problems.

Huh that is interesting Scimmia. I did a search for "FS Reloading" and didn't come up with anything earlier today. Just tried it again with no luck either. But manually I can find the thread. Must be something goofy going on with my search function, I did notice it was acting up yesterday as well for me in the Hunting section not showing some posts that had replies on them.

Anywho, by the looks of it (going through the other thread now ) looks like FS is a safe bet. Off to spend money...

Search using fsreloading, fs reloading, FSReloading, FS Reloading and factory sales all brought up the other thread for me.

Quick restart on the computer and double checking of my settings its working just fine now. I'm no whiz kid for electronics but it seemed like my browser was jumping into an old stored offline mode page for the search function, as there were threads coming up without any relevance for reloading.

Lerk - one thing I noticed on the FSreloading site is their fairly high shipping costs. fmreloading.com has ALL the Lee stuff (you can search using Lee PN's) and fixed shipping costs based on purchase amount.

For instance, the Lee classic turret kit on FS reloading costs $199.49, and to ship it to me in CA is over $53.00 That's bull.

At FM Reloading, that same kit is still $199.00, and it only costs $12.99 to ship it to me.

Spend wisely grasshopper.

I got screwed on shipping from Factory Sales. Yes, I'm in Alaska, but $23 in shipping for a set of dies? I've found that I get the best shipping direct from Lee. I don't know if it's just for Alaska, but the actual shipping cost Lee pays is far more than they charge me. This guarantees them my business.

I guess we in Alaska have gotten used to business screwing around on shipping. Everything from, "Sorry, we don't ship outside the USA" to businesses not knowing the difference between 'continental' and 'contiguous'.
Hint: Alaska is the former.

I just ran into this yesterday with Cheaper Than Dirt. They had a piece of MOLLE gear for $9.99 compared to the manufacturer's price of $17.99. Deal, right? CTD's shipping was $23, the manufacturer's was $5. Usually it's the difference between USPS and UPS Next Day or some such crap. So, it's no sale for Cheaper Than Dirt and won't be in the future.

john16443 and others, I don't remember shipping charges being that high. When I ordered from Factory Sales late last year, I compared the total cost of order including shipping charges and it was still lower than other vendors I compared to.

However, seems that effective 2/7/12, Factory Sales became FS Reloading and perhaps their shipping charges changed too? Their website has a shipping estimator on the right side of the screen under "Your cart" and you can total up your cost of the order, including shipping charges, to compare with other vendors' prices/shipping.

Factory Sales (now FSReloading) sells cheap and ships fast. Their shipping calculator defaults to expensive mode. You can back it down to a more reasonable rate if you pay attention. Still, their min. charge is about $13. For small parts I go straight to Lee who has a min $5.00 shipping charge.

I just ordered the Classic Turret press, primers, pro autodisk and necessary accessories to use it all plus extra turrets. I thought shipping was reasonable and it all arrived in less than 5 days, with a weekend in the middle of those 5 days.

F&M reloading is where I got 90% of my Lee stuff. Found them in Shotgun News back in 1994. Shipping is more than fair considering the gouge from Midway, FS, Natchez and all the rest. Graf with their $5 flat is where I buy most of my stuff like powder and primers.

You can see a good price and have to go thru the whole checkout procedure and find out shipping and handling are the major profit center for them.

For example, I bought two motorcycle tires from a place in Denver. Charged me $20 shipping. They sent the wrong ones, got a RMA and a shipping voucher for DHL. I asked the guy at DHL what they charged for the return trip; $8.10. Probably a third of their profit was from shipping.....

i love the people at FSReloading. they are the factory authorized dealer in the same town, Hartford, WI that Lee Precision resides.

their prices are the best i've seen.

almost bought my Lee Loadmaster from ebay, for 243. my best fish/hunt buddy told me to go to FS. wow! i could get the loadmaster for 219.95! bought it and the factory crimp die. they have excellent CS there. if you call, Mark is very knowledgeable and helped with my decisions on what else to pick up.

i had questions cuz i'm just about ready to reload, and CS patched me over to the technician at Lee Precision, apparently in another building. great support. will always buy Lee at FSReloading.com

excellent vids, used them as i was setting up my press, as i'm not a mech. genius (in addition to being 65 and losing it fast. ha!). i don't know what i would have done without this site. really good vid on the setup of the automatic case feeder. you're gonna love the vids. most instructive. website was financed by the Glocktalk guys. tho i don't own a Glock (XD 40) i thank them for the site.

Well, the new web layout is horrible, to say the least.

I think it further illustrates that they are a 3-trick pony.... but the prices look more than reasonable, if for some reason you don't want to deal with lee directly. ( about 70% of their stock)

I did some sample cart- pounding ...and yes, they default to primo shipping.... this can be really bad if you live in places like...Alaska.

I ordered 3 dies sets from FS reloading on 3/15. 1 was 4-die carbide, 1 was 3-die carbide, & 1 was 3-dies steel - all pistol calibers. Total was $90 for the dies & $12.91 UPS ground shipping to NC. Shipped on 3/16, arrived on 3/21.

Can't complain. I'd have paid more than $103 for just the dies from Cabela's or Midway.

The only thing I saw that was strange was adding in the additional turret rings for the die sets made the shipping go up a few bucks for each one so I ended up not including them. Considering they'd have easily fit in the same box & are so light they would have added negligible weight I didn't see why they were raising the shipping fee disproportionally, but I'm sure it has something to do with the way their system automatically calculates things. Anyway, ended up deciding to get the turret rings somewhere else because the additional shipping they added on made the price per ring pretty high.

But I'm a cheapskate when shopping & don't mind spending an extra few minutes while I'm comparing prices online by going as far as making a cart & seeing what the overall cost is including shipping. Doing that keeps me out of low purchase price but stiff shipping traps.

I ordered the Classic Turret press, 6 turrets, Pro auto disk, Auto Prime, riser, and the bench bracket (I know I'm forgetting something), shipping was 21 bucks. Package was 24 lbs.

I would have went with Grafs, but they were out of stock on a few of the items.

On the FSreloading sight. I wanted the Universal rifle loading die. I noticed all items show how many they have on hand, this particular die showed -6, and it wouldn't let me order it. Which I thought was kinda cool.

If your in a hurry on some of your items then you need to order anything backordered separately. I like the people at FS & there prices are the best I have seen. Shipping is better on small purchases since they started using USPS again. You have select it at check out.
