What pistol do you most regret selling?

Walther P22, I should have melted it down so no one else would have to own it.

Seriously, I had a Makarov in High School, I didn't really know what it was. I sometimes with I had it back, but the list of guns I've sold over the years is pretty short.

Maybe somebody here can educate me, but I've never sold any of my weapons and I can't think of any reason why I would do something like that.

The last gun I bought, a Ruger, I spent about 8 months studying and researching it, until I knew how to remove the mag disconnect in my sleep even before I owned it. I had the holsters, the accessories, everything planned out before I owned it.

By the time I held it in my hand, it was already an old friend. All my guns are like this. There is no way on Earth I'd ever sell any of them. The pre-ILS 686+? Aw, c'mon - that's like one of best guns ever made!

What kind of people sell their weapons? Why would you ever do something like that? I can see buying more and more, and adding to the collection, but letting any of them go? No way. Never.

shockwave, it's hard to "try before you buy" with firearms. Like you, I seriously research most everything I buy. However, sometimes what looked good on paper doesn't feel so great at the range or in my holster, or maybe accuracy or reliability isn't where it needs to be. That's when selling a gun comes into play, especially if it's not something I want to tinker with or spend lots of money on it for gunsmithing. I know that some would never part with a firearm, but I personally will not keep something in the gun cabinet if I don't like it. It's better to put my money into something else.

That, actually, is the other reason I'd sell something. Sometimes I can't get something new that I want without parting with something I already have. There's finite money in the bank and space in the gun cabinet. So, sometimes something gets sold. If that's the situation, though, I think long and hard, as this is the scenario which can most often lead to regrets.
