Where do you live? And why?

Born and raised on Long Island NY, moved to Central FL in the late 90's to accomodate my fathers job.

I joined the Reserve's here at the local AFB and went to college and eventually got a good job, met my wife who also got a very good job. As much as I am tired of the humidity and heat I don't see us leaving anytime soon because one of us would have to give up a salary.

I have traveled quite a bit in the military and would love to go out West to AZ. The wife is from KC MO but I have no interest in going there and those three locations is all we have ever known. Having quite a collection of firearms to include NFA items and most of them being "assault weapons" NY is obviously out of the picture not to mention the million of other reasons.

And just 10 miles from me is one of the largest national forests east of the Miss'ippi River

The Ocala National Forest ls the second largest nationally protected forest in the U.S. State of Florida. It covers 607 square miles (1,570 km2) of Central Florida. It is located three miles (5 km) east of Ocala and 16 miles (26 km) southeast of Gainesville. The Ocala National Forest, established in 1908, is the oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River[1] and the southernmost national forest in the continental U.S.

Just watch out for the Rainbow People.

Having moved a bunch, including out in northern NV, I like the Tahoe area and northern ID the best (although for great food, it IS hard to beat San Fran)

It takes some getting used to to handle the summers in central FL, especially when there isn't a breeze in those tall piney woods.......
