Well, if I gotta, I gotta.
Age 35 as of a month ago, unmarried, no kids, no prospects, no debt, "pseudo-employed" doing sidework to keep in gas, bills, and eats until the economy recovers enough to make people feel rich enough to afford top-end home improvements and/or furniture so I can get a real job. (Unless I tumble onto a backer or win the lottery so's I can open my own shop.)
That also leaves me with a moral dilemma of being a member of a union which is responsible for the highest wages I've ever earned, (Some 60-ish grand/year.) but has a leadership and organization that espouses political ideals that I disagree with on a fundamental level.
I have one 20-year-old Porsche 928 that qualifies as a beater, and a well-used '77 GMC pick-up truck I acquired when some waste of good oxygen stole the Porsche, which has since been recovered in more-or-less undamaged condition. I do all my own maintenance and mechanical work neccessary to keep both tired old beasts running.
I have about sixty guns, which is a lot more than most folks have, as I understand it. No family meant I got to get lots of toys when I was working regularly. (I would probably trade 'em all in for a family in a hot second, though. Being an isolationist gets old.)
Conversely, since being laid off, I went from being cramped by the PRK's one-a-month law to not having purchased a gun in almost two straight years. I think I've been to 2 gun shows in that time, where I would normally have hit 8-10. I don't buy much ammo either. And I shoot a LOT less.
Stupid state. I want my real job back so I don't have to be cheap anymore. Guns are not luxuries, they are neccessities. You hear me, Ah-nuld?
