NRA Stickers on Car. Good Idea or Not?

Periodically I will see someone with a "III% er" decal on their truck. I had no idea what that was so I did some checking. I'm not saying I'm completely on board with what the 3 percenters represent, but because of that decal I at least am now aware of them.

Personally, I feel the GOA (gunowners.org) is far more helpful on 2A issues than the NRA yet many people don't seem to be familiar with the GOA. I would imagine me having a GOA sticker on the vehicle would at least expose one or two people (maybe many more?) to this organization.

The SAF is likewise under-appreciated, in my estimation.

I am a member of The National Restaurant Association. I attend meetings in Atlanta and often do demonstrations at food service events. Maybe I should get one of their bumper stickers just to confuse the antis.

I wear gun clothing, but never post anything on my home or vehicle. That's sort of an advertisement. Stickers go on my ammo boxes only.

MOST people I encounter never even register what is on a hat or shirt.

In my experience, people who hate guns, hate Bush, hate the GOP, etc., are less likely to respect private property as well, and may not think twice about vandalizing my car when I'm not there to protect it if they think it belongs to someone who supports what they hate.

I also travel a bit, and putting an NRA or other "pro-gun" sticker on my car with its Texas plates may not be such a good ideal if I'm traveling in Chicago or some other barbaric locale where people with badges enforce repressive laws.

Throw in the apolitical criminal element who may think "Hey, maybe there's something worth stealing in there" and I see a lot more potential downside than upside to putting ANY type of bumper sticker on the vehicle.

FWIW I go to Chicago and the surrounding area with my vehicle with my stickers multiple times a year every year, have for years, and have never had any issues.

The guy that did the I-40 murders of two people last week in Oklahoma and shot at several more had a license plate that said 3PRSNT. I've never even heard of the 3 percenter's before.

Ironically, he also had a sticker that said "Blue Lives Matter"

I think a couple people at the beginning of this thread said "it depends where you live". And as the thread winds on.....seems to be holding true.

More than likely true. I'm more likely to see a Pro style sticker than not, unless I'm down in the extreme southern portion of my state, which is a lib cesspool.

My father had an NRA sticker on his cars for 50yrs. I've had one on my vehicles for 30, USPSA and NSCA stickers.
I think they got me out of 2 traffic tickets on 2 occasions. One LEO shot USPSA and the other was a NRA member.
Would I put a political bumper sticker on my vehicle, no way. Tasteful window sticker, no problem.

the only vehicle i have any gun sticker's on is my Suburban......NRA life member and one that say's "I Love Guns!!!!"

that is the only vehicle i don't get tailgated in!!!

they come runnin' up then back off;)

but still going and going.........:what: I would not advise placing any firearms related advertising on your vehicle unless you really enjoy talking to anti gun cops.

I was in California earlier this month and saw a Hummer with a window sticker that said "F&*k your Prius". He also had a sticker with the statue of Liberty holding an "assault rifle". I guess he isn't too concerned about vandals despite being in a state that is chock full od gun hating folks.

If like to think the majority of NRA members are smart enough not to leave guns in their cars.

As we are both from Illinois, you should be painfully aware of all the restrictions Springfield has put on us. We don't have a lot of options BUT the "safe harbor" option of leaving our guns in our vehicles. Not a "good" option but it is all we have - for now.

Just an Eagle, Globe and Anchor foil and a Texas State Rifle Association decal. Draw your own conclusions.

The other day, I saw a SUV with a 8"x6" silhouette of an AR rifle painted on the back window. But, no stickers. :)

Seven pages and there's no consensus on whether gun-related stickers on cars are a good idea or not?
Imagine that. Dozens of people from all walks of life, from all over the country, from all different perspectives don't agree on something based on a slew of varying experiences.

This one was a dumpster fire before it started.

OP asks for our Opinions.

We give our Opinions ...

... and, then, some cannot resist the urge to argue with those who do not agree with them, or who say something questionable, or who are wearing the wrong-color socks, etc.

The more things change ... :)

BUT ... without that happening (constantly), much of the Entertainment Value of these Forums would be lost for many.
