Pro-gun bumper stickers

Re: that jury selection survey

I would've been excluded from that trial, I have this sticker on my car:

povertyB250.gif

I have it on the top left of my trunklid, so I can watch people's reaction while they read it. I've have a number of thumbs-up for it, but no face-to-face objection to it. Disagreement with it has only been demonstrated by vandalism, that's why the van doesn't have one anymore.

Sticker

I just recently put a Glock sticker on the back window of my truck. I personally don't care if someone knows that I may have a gun on me. If its an officer, I have it legally. If its a criminal that wants to take it that boy is he a dumb **** if he tries.:) Take care all

I doubt that having an NRA sticker would make a cop more likely to give you a ticket. I'm sure lots of cops are NRA members, too.

I'll bet most cops just chuckle at the Fraternal Order of Police stickers. A bit too obvious what you're up to.

I saw someone the other day with a "Bad Cop- No Donut" sticker. He had some other stickers of a general anarchist bent on his very dirty and battered vehicle. I'd call him a prime candidate for a ticket, along with anyone who has a radar detector on their dash.

That's what I was alluding to.
I have no idea if it works or not but I was saying would it make people less likely to get a ticket, not more.

I don't have any on my vehicles, but I saw one that I would love to have...

"Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns."

Sticker et al?

I don't even wear the hats the NRA send me periodically trying to squeeze me for donations (although the last one was nice so may be I'll send something out the next paycheck :p ).

I just don't see the point in criminals getting a drop on you - remember - the gun you may be carrying may be worth more to them than your wallet (and mine is usually pretty light...)

I don't put bumper stickers on my cars. While i'd have some pro-gun bumper stickers, i'd also have bumper stickers a majority of you wouldn't like.

Then again, it'd be neat to confuse people with a pro gun bumper sticker, a pro choice bumper sticker, a "support the troops" bumper sticker, and a "bring them home" one.

ANOTHER OLD FART HEARD FROM

About 5 years ago I found a little, merlot colored, used M Edition Miata with about 30,000 miles on it. Since I've owned it it has had both an NRA and a Florida Sheriff's Association emblem decal on the rear end and also on the small window on the driver's side. On the small window on the passengers side is an American Flag decal. The big "family" car has NO advertising on it except what the manufacturer and local dealer put there.

I'm a typical-looking old guy, and my car is a small, easily vulnerable ragtop. but so far no one has tried to mess with either of us. True, I do tend to stay away from possible "trouble spots," and do pay close attention to my surroundings both at home and out in town.

I've gotten a lot of kind comments from folks I run into at stores when I wear my NRA cap, with several patriotic hat pins in it. Even with all that "advertising" I've NEVER had a derogatory remark, nor any vandalism to my Miata. Once had a carry-out boy at a grocery store comment "That must be your Miata out in the lot with the NRA emblems" when he saw my NRA cap.

No, I don't leave my "carry" in the car where it can be found, if I have to leave it to enter a government building, liquor store, etc. It's in the locked trunk in those rare instances .

I'm with PlayboyPenguin on this one.

I saw a bumper sticker recently that said "I would rather go hunting with Cheney than go driving with Kennedy". I laughed so hard that it hurt. But I live near Boulder, CO and I know people who had their vehicles keyed, probably for their BUSH bumper sticker. I put out signs for the "Anti-Background check ammendment" and for Bush and Sen Allard. Never had one last more than 1 day and in their place was 1 to 3 signs for the opposition. They are very bold here. The $500 insurance deductables would add up fast here. If I was always there watching with a shotgun I would not care, but I'm not and I face reality. To those who think otherwise: PLEASE move to Boulder and chase the communists to Cuba, Venezuela, N. Korea or California!

BETTER LATE, ETC...

FINALLY got around to taking a picture of that Miata M Edition mentioned above. No change since that posting - no vandalism while parked etc. At home it's garaged, so no concern there. Both "pro-gun" decals are also on the little glass panel ahead of the driver's-side window. 45Broomhandle

Funny story.

My old Buick (RIP) couldn't be locked. Well, it could, but the key to unlock it didn't work, so every now and then I'd open it up to go to work and find the center console and the glove box open, telling me that someone decided to see if I had anything valuable.

Anyway, I joined the NRA and I found a nice place for the sticker on the windshield. Coincidentally, I haven't found any signs of someone looting through my car after that. I would think that advertising that I own guns would make people think that they'd get shot if they ever try to break into my car or house.

Nobody's mentioned any tactical bumper stickers, which can only be read with IR goggles.
Don't have any stickers - got a big black SUV with no chrome but on the bumper. Thinking that it used to be a G-man-mobile. Never had anyone stop that car, either.

JUST A THOUGHT...

Don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want the average street punk, dumb driver, or whatever, to have to GUESS when he sees my vehicle. Only if they can't read would I consider myself having a problem. Hopefully one of their literate buddies has advised them what the Eagle in a circle, and the Star decals stand for.

Hopefully they'll realize the driver MAY be armed. In Florida THAT'S almost a foregone conclusion. Lots of us packin' these days. The Liberal press predicted it would be like the OK Corral down here. OOOOPS! Seems our crime rate went down, upon passage of that "Castle Doctrine" law. Oh well, let's just condemn the Iraq War and Support Illegal Immigration for something to take folks minds off that gun totin' subject.

President Ronald Reagan said it best, "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

You suppose? 45Broomhandle

I have 6 bumper stickers on my car.:D

1) "The Second Ammendment, America's Original Homeland Security"
2) "The Best Homeland Defense is an Armed Citizen"
3) "Have you hugged your Assault Rifle Today?" ( I really like this one:D )
4) "Fight Crime, Shoot Back!":D
5) "I never saw an American Flag Burned At A Gun Show"
6) "Warning, Driver only carries $20 worth of Ammunition".:D

Needless to say, most people don't tailgate me anymore, seems the highway has become more polite.:D

I don't put ANY bumperstickers on the car, just don't like the look of them. The only one I have considered is a Support the Troops sticker/magnet.

I don't have any stickers on my car. Doing PI work you want to remain as inconspicuous as possible, and even after I shifted work I never put any on.

Every time I put a bumper sticker on a car, the car dies within 3 months. Not related to the stickers, I think, but odd coincidence. By the way, I usually pay less than 800 for a car, so that may have something to do with it...

My current car is stickerless. One, so it will keep running. Two, I live in Mass and don't want my tires slashed while I'm in the woods hunting. Call me a chicken if you will, but the twits who vandalize hunter's cars don't do it when they can be seen, but wait till you're far away. Okay, I'm a chicken, but I don't have to walk a couple miles out of the woods, after a day's hunting.

Just my .02

I had a sticker across the back window of my car that said, "I shot M***** F****** in Iraq" and "university of fallujah - april tour" The Command made me scrape them off, something about 'good order and disipline'? Bunch of punks.

now I have Purple Heart Licence Plates, the bottom of the Plate Reads "combat wounded veteran". So for me that's good enough.

I have no gun-related advertising on my clothing, home or vehicles for security reasons. AFAIC I might as well just put big targets on them. ;) If someone breaks into my vehicle looking for guns, it takes only a few extra seconds to get the registration and find out where I live. The thief won't have to worry about getting shot -- all he has to do is break in when I'm not home.

Discretion is not the same as paranoia. Being discreet about having guns is not the same as being afraid to exercise my right to own and use them. And my right to free speech includes not saying anything if I wish.

I'm a crochety old man...

...And I take great delight in twisting some folks tails. My Dodge (yeah, it's got a hemi...) truck's back window is adorned with a standard-sized NRA sticker, a George Bush-faced boy peeing on the words 'John Kerry', One of those religous fish symbols with four feet that says 'Darwin', and a fourteen-inch diameter centerpiece that shows that kid grabbing himself while flourishing the Hawaiian good luck sign, surrounded by the message 'Bite me Bowtie Boy'.

Oh, by the way, I work for G.M...

Middle-of-the-road for me. I have one NRA sticker placed on the back drivers-side window of my car. I also fly red, white, and blue ribbon from my antenna.

The same position that a regular customer keeps HIS at, that was a silent reminder every time I saw him that I really needed to sign up to the NRA!

So I do my very little bit to promote the NRA, while not exactly standing out in a highly conservative and pro-gun area.
