I've got three of the old Gen 3 Smith 1000 series tens. And a new SIG 220 DA/SA model. Been fooling around with the tens from the start ,when the only one available was the BREN ten. With Expen$ive Norma ammo. Even have quite a bit of trigger time behind the FBI MP-5's in ten mm.
A very useful cartridge. Can be loaded down to .40 S&W levels, the Fed, American eagle 180 gr IS basically .40 S&W ammo. Loaded quite low.
Or go up to Buffalo Bore/Double Tap ballistics. Light weight slugs all the way up to 200-220 gr CAST.
IMHO the ten is similar to the .41/.44 mag, .45 Colt, .44 Special in that it's at it's most useful BEST when handloaded. So many more options, versus factory ammo.
I'm not a Glock fan but the G20 (hopefully I have the right model #) IS one of the few G's I'd ever own. Talk about hi cap...big bore power!
Shot the Delta's over the years, like the .40 in a BHP platform....NOT a fan. To me the 1911 shines in .45 acp and the BHP is and always will be best as a nine. I could live with a 1911 in ten, but prefer the old 1076,1006 etc, or the new SIG 220.
Look at the EAA offerings too.
