If there is a modern cartridge that has a cult like following and yet heavily underrated it would be the 10MM. This Ruger SR1911 in 10MM after my first range trip reconfirms my membership to the cult.

While out on the range for the first time time with the Ruger SR1911 in 10MM. The Ruger was 100% reliable with the 100 rounds of factory and reloads I put down range. I did shoot some of my favorite reloads across the chronograph out of the SR1911, 135gr Nosler hollow point and 200gr Nosler hollow point loaded on top of Alliant Bluedot powder. The Ruger SR1911 is exactly what you would expect from Ruger, cast frame, tight slide to frame fit, no frills features like ambi safety and very reliable. If you are a 10MM fan like I am this is a must have, if you are curious about 10MM and want a cost effective, nicely refined ultra reliable 1911 in 10MM look no further than the Ruger SR1911.

Correction in the video I mentioned CFE Pistol, I did not have any of these left and had to revert back to my Bluedot loads, unfortunately I had CFE pistol on the brain lol.

Good, to the point, review! Though I don't see having a 10mm in the near future. Your video makes it tempting!:D

Good video, good shooting, went to the California roster and of course this unit is not included... doh!

I've been lusting after this gun since it was announced. I might even trade my shotgun to make this thing happen for me. My anime-infused upbringing has conditioned me to have a special fondness for stylish guns that are clearly overpowered for my purposes, and I don't tthink I can turn down one built by the greatest firearms company on the planet.

Thanks for the info. I did not know Ruger had it in 10MM. I had one their 45 ACP and liked it a lot. Sold it for another gun.

Will have to check the 10mm out!

I like it! But I am a bit biased. Nice to see another good platform for the 10. I shoot and carry my G20 often, but I would prefer it to feel like your new pistol lol.

Hard cartridge to beat if you handload... very versatile. I have always wanted a 10mm 1911... the weight and shootability of the platform seems like a perfect match to me.

Any concerns over durability (ie the old delta elites, old smiths etc)? Or does it seem like they have that fixed?

Curious if they made the gun to handle the cartridge, or just stuffed it in there lol.

I agree about handloading. Most of the factory 10mm loads are just 40 S&W. Unless you want to drop some coin on custom ammo, handloading is the only way to get good performance.

Like the OP I use Blue dot for loading.
