Played with mine today. Nothing fancy, SAA Heritage 5 Inch barrel

My question is -

There has to be a better way to carry extra rounds besides loose in the pocket of my vest.
I'm thinking of fabricating a rubber or metal speed strip type thing, not to reload, that will still be a one by one deal, but just to carry without all the jingle.

Any bright ideas?

Uncle Mikes used to make a neat little nylon belt pouch, with velcro top that would hold a handful of 22 LR/Magnum rounds. The best thing about it is/was that it leaves your hands free to load the gun.

I don't know if they still make it or not. I've got one but I've had it for years.

I couldn't find it online, but MTM makes a plastic box that clips to your belt or pocket and seem to do the same thing.

If it rattled, I'd stick a piece of cloth, paper towel or something in there on top of the ammo.

Some people like to carry extra ammo in a pistol magazine like 1911 magazine for the 45 ACP Ruger Blackhawk convertible. You can thumb the round out of the magazine into the single action loading port.

Maybe something similar for 22 WMR? A pistol or rifle magazine in the pocket with the reload in it.

I will say it's a very handy way to reload. I actually carry a Ruger EC9S mag to reload my comfortable blackhawk. Pretty fast way to reload a thumb buster.

I am a big fan of the .22 WMR cartridge. The Quickstrips do indeed fit .22 WMR. I have a boat load of them scattered around in pockets for my NAA 22 Mag mini revolvers. When I pack a S&W 351C, I also carry Quickstrips in coyote brown nylon belt pouches. Both are available from Amazon. The Quickstrips come in a 2-pack and hold 10 cartridge’s, either 22 LR or 22 WMR. The pouches will also hold 38 caliber Quickstrips.

The box is an Ammo Wallet filled with 22 Magnums. I got it off of Amazon, as well. Plus, I also have a couple of repurposed ring bags filled with the little Magnums.

The 5-Star speedloaders are specific to my S&W 7-shot 351C & 351 PD revolvers.

The NAA revolver holsters available from their website have a pocket built in to carry a complete reload of 5. This is my EDC BUG.

I also drop a Quickstrip in the pocket as well. Note the CCI snake shot. This is my “go to town” BUG.

The 5-Star speedloaders are for this 351C. Carry this when putzing about in pj’s, feeding the yard cats. Very light...11 oz.

Like your whole .22 magnum set-up, especially your revolvers and different modes of carrying ammo! Very well thought out and organized!

I recently brought a Marble Arms Catch 22 Magazine Loader. It holds 30 rounds of 22 Magnum and clips to my belt. It is secure, reasonably weather proof and rattle free. I have it stored in my 22 Magnum Bug-Out ammo can which also holds 500 rounds of ammunition and my Taurus revolver that is in a nylon holster. It makes for a very compact self-defense package.

Forgot this one... belt rig for 6-shot S&W Model 48 Classic. The cartridge belt has two HKS speedloaders in an el-cheapo black nylon speed loader case. Extra ammunition is carried on a 22 cartridge belt. Holster is a Galco DAO Model. I wear this during spring turkey season. There is a 6 round shotgun ammo slide on the belt as well. Good shooter.
